Just wanted to say to all, nice draft. You guys did a great job of keeping it moving by checking in or sending PM's. Well done.

Best of luck to all! :goodposting:

45 minutes of looking around, and can't find a single player I want!

I'll just take one of the higher ranked rookie WR's left...Johnnie Lee Higgins

PM-ing next

20.10 TE Leonard Pope Arz

I needed to strengthen up my TE position, and I do believe Pope is a starter in Arz.

Good draft guys.

Cheers.

And for the steal of the draft20.08 Shaun McDonald, DET, WR 101pming ren
That would have been my pick but I was a bonehead and drafted 2 TE's with the same bye. When I saw a starting TE with a different bye still on the board I had to take him instead.

20.15 Brandon Stokley WR Den

It's been fun men!

Good luck to all!
This is an interesting pick and one that may be worth tons later this year. Stokely is returning from injury but so is Smith. If Stokley is good to go and Smith isn't, Stokley could be in for a decent year. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Guys it's gonna be a bit before I can pick - I'm getting killed at work and I'm taking my 2 year old for "swimming" lessons as soon as I leave here... I figure since no one is waiting on me to make my pick, you won't hold it against me if I use my whole clock... I have no idea who's been taken the last 2 rounds and less idea of who I'm gonna take...

We don't mind. I will point out however that if your clock expires you lose the pick. Just want to be sure you know.

Brian Griese, QB Chicago Bears

Just backing up Rexxy - probably the best move I can make here.
I'm going to bring this up because it became an issue with some guys in past years and because there are other drafts going forward that this impacts. Not trying to be the bad guy here, just trying to avoid problems going forward. This pick (by rules) should not be allowed. The rules have always stated that the guys picking the ends do not get extra clock time for their back to back picks and that the timer will expire at the end of a draft to avoid giving someone an unfair adavantage. E.g., the drafter could wait weeks to see how everything plays out and then make a pick thus having an unfair advatage over others. And this was tried by someone and that's why the rule was put in play.

I'm not saying you have an unfair advantage here because I don't feel you do at all in this case. However, allowing this pick would set a bad precident for other drafts. You timed out after 8 hours and thus the draft ended.

Can the comish please make a ruling on this so we don't have a problem going forward?

He asked permission before he had the long delay and no one cared. I don't think there's an issue here because he did that.Would you have a point if he didn't? Absolutely but.....

I also don't have a problem with it under the circumstances. He stated he had a problem, and was not long after the clock expiration. It would be a very different story if he'd waited a couple of weeks or something.

I have no problem with this being brought up as an issue - I understand my clock expired. If the guys or commish really feel like me taking Griese isn't kosher, I'll live with it. My ignorance of the rule doesn't mean I don't have to play by it. That being said, I really didn't know that I had the doomsday clock going for my final pick - I didn't see FM's post until it was too late to do anything about it. The reason I posted what I did is because I knew I was behind the 8 ball on my timing and wanted to let everyone know. It was a great draft and I'm sorry for ending it on a goofy note. Good luck to everyone!  :D

Trust me when I say I son't have a problem with your pick. I'm good with that and you did check in and I hope that's given consideration if a decision is made. Again, the only reason I even said anything was because of the past issue and potential for problems by leaving this door open. Some guys around here take this stuff too seriously and look for loop holes to get over. I'm hoping to prevent some problems later on and that's the only reason I said anything at all.As far as I'm concerned we leave the pick based on the following:1. It's not clearly explained in the rules.2. You checked in and told us you'd be out for an extended period with your son and we can all understand that and appreciate the value family means to us all. Plus you didn't gain any advantage in doing so.3. Several have agreed the pick is fine.I say move on but add the clarification to the rules in the next round of survivors and that should resolve any concerns.

After the last pick of the draft is made (or the clock expires) everyone has an 8 hour clock for any make-up picks. The Griese pick met those criteria.

That's good to know. I didn't realize that how it works. Thanks BNB.
