Peaky Blinders -BBC Miniseries (1 Viewer)

totally forgot about the show... and never finished up the previous season, let alone even starting the final one.

maybe someday.. but not likely. I just ran out of steam(punk) with the whole thing- from acting to directing to visual choices. and esepcially the slow-mo tough guy walking with smoke and dramatic lighting from inside random places where no lighting belonged.

IMO, it’s worth finishing the series unless you were just meh on the series as a whole. They do a decent job of wrapping things up.

Loved the show, although I didn't really like the last season at all. Agree that Brody overacted quite a bit. IMO the understated star of the show was Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomon. Glad to see Cillian Murphy really get his due now with Oppenheimer - no question he should be nominated for the Oscars as Best Actor.

Yes really strong last season and the upcoming movie should be good as well

He shouldn't be understated. He stole every scene he was in, he was totally remarkable.

Damn, feel like you're really missing the boat here. Bad acting?!

The only one I can think of is Adrien Brody, who is a great actor. But man, his caricature of an Italian gangster was pretty not great.

Small price to pay to watch Alfie Solomons tho.

I don't think I ever said it was bad acting; Murphy and Hardy are incredible. But the direction for all of it got worn out for me, including the acting. Don't need to see any of them walk slow motion through fire strewn alleys ever again. Like a bad car commercial over and over and over.

How many things can be on fire that they walk in front of?

How many times do we have to be reminded that "THEY....ARE...THE...PEAKY...BLINDAHS!!!"

Other than that it was a entertaining show in the Sons of Anarchy vein. Even switched away from the quasi political commentary like Sons in the first season.

It was great for like two or three seasons. I probably said this in this thread a few years ago but…

They blew their entire story in season one. They went from rags to riches too fast. They could have dragged out the entire first season for two or three seasons.

By season 3, like most shows, it just got too preposterous.
