Peanut Exec gets 28 years for covering up salmonella outbreak (1 Viewer)

I like the renewed focus on white collar crime. These guys do way more harm than some dude who robs a bank.
They go after this guy bc he's an easier target/smaller fish/less influence than auto/financial executives.
Did you read the article? He should have been gone after. Not saying others shouldn't, but I don't see this guy as an easier target. See my post above, he seemed pretty well connected. It took people dying and a huge hit to the peanut industry for this guy to go down.

I'm not saying he is an "easy" target (just an easier target) - I'm saying big finance / auto executives are basically untouchable and they commit some heinous crimes. The heads of banks and auto are connected at the highest levels and under almost any circumstance would never face more than a fine, even an 8 figure fine would be like a fart in the wind to most of them.

Those Dbags remind me of that compounding pharmacy that had tainted meds. Public safety is a myth.
I'd say sentencing execs to 20-28 years provides serious incentive for others to do things right.

now if they could do the same to those who caused the 2008 financial crisis...
