Penn & Teller: Fool Us (1 Viewer)

I used to go out with a girl that was a magician. One day we were driving down the highway and she put her hand on my leg and I turned into a motel.

My favorite part was a 7:22 when you hear Teller break character and asks Penn to pass him that bottle of water.

You need to check out The Carbonaro Effect. It's pretty great most of the time.
The queston I always have watching that show is, are people really that stupid and naïve...
What's that show all about?
Wiki:

"The show is hosted by magician and prankster Michael Carbonaro. He performs baffling tricks on unsuspecting people in everyday situations, all caught on hidden camera."

Basic premise. He's working at a jewelry store. Has someone coming in to photograph jewelry for catalog. Girl takes picture. Developed photo shows jewelry is broken

I think it's because no matter how ridiculous people believe what they just saw with their own eyes. That and technology has been progressing at such a rapid pace that it seems like anything is possible these days particularly with older people.

He's a magician, no idea if he's Egyptian, and generally speaking will work in real stores and do slight of hand tricks on the customers. Some are quite remarkable, this is my favortire so far but there are a lot of really good ones. He has to be a witch to pull this off. Can't figure out how the hell he did it.

It is a really good show, my daughter and I watch it. And he is a great illusionist.

I do like how he plays off them and their reactions like nothing unusual just happened and just keeps the conversation going in circles.

My boys love it too. It's one of those rare show that the whole family really can enjoy.

the one you posted is a perfect example. he blows by their obvious response and questions and goes on with some peripheral nonsense like nothing out of the ordinary just happened.

That's a great idea for a show. :subscribe:

Really entertaining. Agree with Penn, I just like watching magic stuff on TV and a few things were kind of obvious even to me, but it was so great to watch it didn't matter.

First marker went into the right side of his vest (his right, our left). Second marker was great, I assume the one Teller was referring to. No clue where it went.

Also the card in the plastic bag he flashed really bad that there were just two cards in the bag and all he did was turn the bag over. Obvious he had 2 of each signed card before that, but that really gave it away even to someone who wasn't thinking about it before. I really love the disappearing deck thing where it went from a full deck, down to one card and back again. While obvious how it must work, but that doesn't change that it looked very real.

I really have a hard time getting into magic on television. So much editing and stuff that happens off camera.I do enjoy PTFU though.

I really loved this trick. Like Penn said, the deck switch was easy to spot.

But I can't fathom how he got the card back in there in the way he did.

This is where I am.I mean, the car one posted above. I assume the scene was edited and the security guard is an actor, so not much fun for me to watch

:blackdot:

Always enjoyed magic, but some of the TV stuff feels impossible without editing, so I assume things are edited (or very creative camera angles). I do like PTFU because in addition to the magic itself, you get some discussion about the trick itself also in many cases.
