Percy Harvin.. who's rolling him out in week 2? (1 Viewer)

I think you will be disappointed. He had a nice week one because of the TD, but lets be realistic--he only played 35% of snaps and got 5 touches. I don't think he's a big enough part of the offense yet to justify starting him unless desperate.

I'm starting Harvin and Earl Bennent over Donnie Avery. I'm hurting at WR with the A.Gonzalez injury but the Rams offense looked pretty pathetic last week so that's why I'm benching Avery.

Starting Harvin IN PLACE OF an injured Anthony Gonzalez

Starting him OVER Patrick Crayton and Laurent Robinson

He's my WR4 after Roddy White, Ochocinco and Hines Ward

Having trouble deciding if I should start him over Berrian, feel like no matter what I do I'll regret it

I am starting Harvin in my flex. I had planned on a rotating flex and I am starting him over Chris Henry, Felix Jones and Donald Brown.

You could look at this the way you are or you can look at it from the perspective that despite playing only 35% of the snaps he got more touches than Rice, Berrian or Shiancoe. He also was extremely close to scoring another TD. I also think they have packages designed for him they don't want to expose yet and in general we see his playing time and role increase. This week I'm just more concerned with them running at will after they get a big lead.

I'm gonna start him over either a gimpy AQ or a wimpy Braylon...
I'm not sure starting him over Boldin is a good idea... But then I haven't really been following Boldin's progress. Did he practice this week?

Let me preface by saying that my WR suck. Having said that, right now I have him in as my WR2 over Bennett, Coles, and L Robinson. This is a PPR league. I may swap him out in favor of Bennett but for now he's in. I think the Lions are a good game to try out a lot of different things with him.

In theory any game is the opportunity for him to do a lot of different things. But there is still no evidence Harvin will do any one thing in volume. Childress has people convinced of this "super weapon." I'll believe it when I see it. When Harvin explodes with 140 yards the board is going to blow up with "I told you so" but nobody can predict when it will happen.

I got AQ to in my league where I have Harvin. I got one Hell of an "Who do I start"Between AQ / Coles / Bess / Caddy / Harvin I need to choose 2.Got to play AQ unless I hear he looks bad in warm ups or something, and I have Bess going in the other spot since it looked like Penny was locked unto him. I would prob take Harin over Bess but Harvin is in my Taxi and I would have to cut someone....

Harvin only played 35% because MIN would rather have another TE on the field to run-block. When he WAS on the field, he was being utilized. Besides there wasn't a need to run 3-WR sets (with Harvin in the slot) since MIN was in control of the game and didn't need to put up a lot of points through the air.

Starting him over Bryant and Morgan. Would start him over a lot of people who were drafted as WR2/3's. The mathup this week is amazing for him!

I currently have him starting in place of Bryant, but have an offer to move him and Moss for Boldin and Smith. I might just do it. I just can't get behind him completely without a truly defined role. Maybe I miss the boat, I don't know.

I'm all excited about "Purple Haze" and want to start him, just don't think he will see enough touches yet. On the other hand I know he is going to bust out in one of these upcoming weeks, tough call.

I sure wouldn't start him over Crayton or Ward. The Giants secondary is all banged up and the Bears' is just terrible..

Can't decide between Harvin and Mason tomorrow. PPR. Anyone have any thoughts/logic to start one over the other?

im looking at starting him as my wr2, its between harvin, marshall, b. edwards, lee evans, cotchery, tough call, I like cotchery against the pats too. tough to tell whats going to happen in a lions game, any thoughts?

From CBS - fwiw, he is being started in 43% of all leagues:

Harvin facing dream matchup?

Latest News

Vikings WR Percy Harvin will face a Lions team that allowed six touchdown passes and 358 yards in Week 1 against Drew Brees and the Saints. Harvin caught three passes for 36 yards in his NFL debut at Cleveland, including a 6-yard touchdown pass.

(Updated 09/17/2009).

Analysis

New Vikings QB Brett Favre attempted just 21 passes in Week 1 at the Browns in a game that was dominated by Adrian Peterson and the ground game of the Vikings. Perhaps it was Favre's late arrival to training camp that forced the Vikings to stay away from the pass with the veteran not yet ready for a bigger role, but all signs point to an increase in production in Week 2 against perhaps the weakest defense in the NFL.

It's hard to bench Mason in PPR. Guy catches 80 balls every season and SD/BAL looks like it could be a shootout. As for the OP, I've got Harvin on several teams, but I'm going to hold back until he starts getting more targets.

Percy is one of those players you are happy to have drafted, but then never know when to start - ala DeSean Jackson last year or Steve Smith his rookie year. All of that said, I may be giving him the nod over Eddie Royal...that is of course provided I do not change my mind again. :jawdrop:

I'm starting him as my WR2 over Avery, Hester, and Morgan. Dodd's projections in Lineup Dominator say Hester, but I can't resist the match-up with the Lions.
