I didn't draft a backup qb, and I picked up Freeman for his bye, which worked out fairly well. Given all of the injuries, as well as an already suspect offensive line, coupled with Donald brown's historical problems with pass blocking, I am holding onto Freeman, but this roster spot is expensive this time of year.

I drafted Manning as a rookie and had Plummer who I also got as a rookie. Drafted Cutler and when Plummer was sent to Tampa I cut him and still have Manning+Cutler.

I am, but in a 16-team league, there wasn't going to be anyone on the WW or there'd be high bidding on the few guys who emerge. In my 12-team, I'll pick up a backup or two before WW closes for the season.

I wouldn't bother in a 12-team with a WW that doesn't end.

I'm carrying Freeman. Made a pretty good call by carrying him for Peyton's bye and I like him a whole lot more than any of the ww options out there. Just don't like the idea of having virtually no shot to win if Manning would go down.

How many times has Manning gone down in the past? Even with similar injuries on the O-line.

It's still to waste a roster spot on a backup QB you'll never use if you can pick up a WW prospect instead.

I've got Orton as a back-up. Aside from the bye-week, I've never started him nor do I plan to. But I also don't want to make another team stronger by dumping him.

We have 3 QB's, 10 team league, play one each week. In the redraft I swapped Alex Smith (injured) for Painter, also have Chad Henne as #2 (now looks like #3). In between weeks 12 and 13 I WILL swap another QB. Praying Iron Man Peyton will last through the season and it looks like he will play all 16 games. Been in first place ($5,000 league) since Day one.

I own PM in two 12-team redraft leagues.

In one, I just grabbed Tony Romo off of the WW this week. Have been going without a backup until now.

In the other I've been carrying Sam Bradford for a few weeks.

The Bradford slot is pretty questionable and probably a total waste. If someone I wanted appeared on the WW, I'd cut Bradford first.

I like having Romo stashed because I think the Cowboys would've IRed him if they weren't planning on bringing him back this year. Even if I don't use Romo, nobody else will either. Of course if Manning goes down at playoff time, it's possible I could plug in Romo and have very little dropoff.

The only league I have PM in is a 12 team league with a deep bench. I drafted Orton as a bye week filler and haven't dropped him, but I have actively tried to trade him with no luck so far. I know I'm never going to use Orton, but someone in my league will if I drop him and the guys on the waiver wire (because of the deep benches) don't seem worth the free improvement to someone else's team.
