Peyton Manning will struggle with the Jags (1 Viewer)

The Colts next game is against Jacksonville. The Jags defense was a monster the last time the colts played them Peyton had a bad game. The Jags pressure the QB better than almost any team in the league this combined with the lack of a running game for the Colts means the Jags defense will be able to focus on stopping the passing game.

The Jags beat the Colts last year when it mattered.

I am in no way saying bench/trade/cut Peyton (or even that he is not the #1 Ranked QB in Fantasy Football). All I am saying is that his owners do not need to expect another monster game. I might even bench some of his supporting players this week if I had good alternatives.

Good points. Peyton has struggled against Jax in the past - although this game being in Indy will help somewhat.

Friend of mine last season took Manning in the first round. He lost the week the Colts played the Jags the first time last season.

So end of the season, Colts playing the Jags again, he benched Warner for Manning.

Let's just say, it didn't end well, and he hasn't yet heard the end of it from me.

The Jag did not beat the Colts last year. They lost 10-3 in the first meeting, and 26-18 the second time.Mannings statsGame 1: 122 yards 1 INTGame 2: 324 yards 2 TDsMore than likely if you drafted Manning, your alternative QB wont fare much better. So starting Manning is a given no matter who he is playing.

I sure hope my alternate QB averges more than 223 yards 1 TD and .5 INTs. But you have to start manning every week unless you somehow have an uber back up with a great match up. He has had and will likely have good game against the Jags. He may lay an egg from time to time, but he's still the man.

Sorry it was the year before the jags beat the Colts 24-27.Again as I said in my orginal post this is not a thread telling you to Bench Peyton. BUT do not expect a strong game fantasy wise.

I think the 10-3 game was an aberration last year (both offenses were not in gear in that game - the Colts had a 13-6 win agains the Browns around that time, for example).

I expect a 24-20 type of score on Sunday - because most games between the Jags and Colts usually has that type of score.

After that highly emotional (and draining) home victory against Pittsburgh,I could easiily see the Jaguars having a "letdown" against the Colts, especially with travel and 1 days less rest than Indy...

I don't see a letdown for the Colts. No chance. Maybe for the Redskins game the next week, but not for the Colts game. Mike Peterson alone will motivate them for the Colts.

I picked up Grossman on the WW. Manning is my starter. I cant bring myself to sit Manning but Gross is at home against Minny. This is one of those ones where whatever I do, it will be the wrong choice.

In the end, it comes down to the @^#$*!~ idiot test.If you bench Rex Grossman and he has a huge game, will you feel like a @^#$*!~ idiot? If you bench Peyton Manning and he has a huge game, will you feel like a @^#$*!~ idiot?Peyton Manning wins the "@^#$*!~ idiot" test, and therefore deserves the start.
