Peyton Manning (1 Viewer)

He's been OK so far, not bad, but not the elite guy I was hoping for. Right now, besides the obvious Brady, I would rather have either Romo or Anderson. The question is, will his numbers improve enough for the FF playoffs? Is this just more a running team with Addai now, and Peyton's numbers will never be what they once were? Or is it just a streak of very good defenses? People that watch the Colts every week, what say you?

I think you could probably reword the name of this thread to avoid getting it locked. Right now it is about your team and no one really cares (official policy of the board).

Manning has been performing well. I'm not certain why you think his numbers aren't elite. He's the #2 QB in the league right now.

Thank you- how do I change the name of the thread? Also, I thought that Romo and Anderson both had better numbers than Manning...

Manning is going to go through what Favre went through last year and the year before when Harrison goes away. Just not as bad as he will still have a strong D to keep him from having to try and win the game himself. He will only have Wayne and he will draw a double on him. They are going to have to look at WR in the draft again soon. Gonzalez is a #3 and that's it. Replacing Harrison will not be an easy task and a kook like Chad Johnson isn't the answer.

If Moss wants a mint after this season, (which he will, especially if they win it all) it would not surprise me if the Colts make a move on him just the way SF did for Deion after the Cowboys run of titles.

This week? Or overall? When drafting, it is best to go after a known commodity. Sure, Manning might not end up the top QB this year. However, it is almost certain he would finish top 3-5. I'd rather take my chances on a QB like that and let someone else go after the big risk. LT is in the same boat this year. He struggled mightily against the MN defense. There is a 90% chance LT will finish in the top 5 RBs. He won't finish #1 this year...but we all know he's going to have a decent season. He is a known commodity. Some exceptions to the rule this year include:Steve SmithLarry Johnson

Deion joined the Cowboys in 1995 after the 49ers won a Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXIX).....the Cowboys courted him.

He's injured so I don't consider him.

This is Manning. You know that you will get a top five QB, but you won't get the best QB in the game. He never finishes on the top, but he is always a steady influence. I don't know what you expected.

The fact that there is a question about this is pretty funny.

Manning has been a top-4 QB from 1999-date. For typical 12 team league, he's in the top third of the starters, and that's as bad as it's been. He was #1 last year in FBG scoring, and he's been a close #2 before.

If that isn't elite, then there are NO elite QB's.

Brady over Manning this year, right now: Yeah.

Romo over Manning this year, right now: toss-up, but I'd prefer to have the safer player in Manning.

Anderson over Manning this year: Ha! I have both Manning & Anderson on a dynasty team. Anderson started Peyton's bye week. He will start any weeks at the end of the year Peyton sits. I think that's about it.

Tarik... Bill Polian on line 1 for you.

Never thought I'd actually have to think about whether to start Manning or not. That O-line is
