Fox will turn Manning into the next Delhomme.
But Denver is cold.Okay, I'll make one more attempt to get this thread back on track. Obviously, many posters didn't get the big picture of why I started this tread in the first place. My only point was to say that Denver is positioned very well to get Manning, and don't be shocked if he chooses the Mile High City. It's just great karma to get both Elway and Manning from the Colts.
Looking pretty good, Bronco fan!! Should they get Manning, they obviously won't bring Wayne or Garcon at this point, but maybe Clark. As such, D Thomas would be the #1 option. Any idea of his #s with Manning? Would 65/1,100/9 be totally out of the question?Pat Bowlen's plane has issued a flight plan to go from Denver to Raliegh NC this morning. John Elway is on the plane as well. Rumor has it that Manning is going to work out in person for Elway. Very good sign for a Manning to Denver signing.
sounds to me like you are assuming Demaryius Thomas misses 3-4 games with those numbers.Looking pretty good, Bronco fan!! So assuming you think I was assuming him missing only 3 games...carry the 7, division by the square of the remaining side.....80/1,350/11 type of year?! That's what Larry Fitz did last year with 3 extra TDs on top! And I thought I was smokin' the cheese!sounds to me like you are assuming Demaryius Thomas misses 3-4 games with those numbers.
who was throwing to Fitz last year? Skelton?Demaryius was coming off of a blown Achelles last year. He started slow, and had Tebow throwing to him. in the last 5 games of the season, he averaged 5/89/0.6 per game. Extrapolated over a 16 game season, and you get 80/1433/10. With Tebow and a run-heavy offense.in his two playoff games, he went 4/204/1 and then 6/93.So assuming you think I was assuming him missing only 3 games...carry the 7, division by the square of the remaining side.....80/1,350/11 type of year?! Well, obviously, I for one, am not surprised by Peyton choosing Denver. As I stated from the beginning, Denver had a lot to offer him and his family. Now, with more cap room than any other team by far, look for the Broncos to add Saturday, Clark and Mike Wallace very soon. They also should now have the cap room to resign Brodrick Bunkley. The Broncos, having solved their offensive needs through free agency, should concentrate on defense in the draft, taking a DT with their first pick.Man, it's a good day to be a Bronco Fan!!It's beyond belief that we have gotten two of the best QB's to ever play the game from the Colts!Give John Elway great credit for this signing. He played his cards perfectly. He remained confident the entire way, never showing any desperation like most of the other teams did. He never put the high pressure sales pitch on him, and Peyton responded favorably to this type of strategy. Way to go John!
Thanks for saying this. I thought from the beginning that Denver had a good shot at Manning. So sorry for your Dolphins. Must be very frustrating. Maybe Tebow is in your future???Bronco Fan.Congrats on the signing. My first post here was "Pipe dream".Eating crow big time.Signed, Suicidal Dolphin fan.
Thanks, and it is awesome. The only feeling that comes close is the emotion I had when I found out that we had traded for John Elway in 1983. While there is risk in this deal, I applaud the Broncos and Elway for being bold enough to pull this off. It proves that when they say that just being good isn't good enough, and winning Super Bowls is the only thing that counts, it's not just rhetoric. They believe it and with this signing, they walked the walk. Not a Denver fan but this has to be an awesome moment for you guys. I hope Peyton is as good as ever because it makes the league that much more fun.
