Coming down to the wire sharks and Phenoms fantasy leagues has a few openings left for leagues drafting this weekend. You've heard about Phenoms before: great payouts, great competition (lots of sharks!), great commish who keeps it running smooth, and very quick payouts to prize winners. For those who are real sharks check out the DEEP lineup leagues. A little more strategic than your cookie cutter lineup and there is even a DEEP auction this year.

I was interested in those leagues because they offer idp, but the payouts turned me off -- seems like they try to spread it around get everybody their money back.

I'm just going from my vague memory, so correct me if I'm misleading anybody about the site, but I think if you win a league you end up w/something like 4-1 on your money for beating 11 other guys.

That's about right. Payouts are generally 85-90% of total entry fees and 4+ to 1 for the winner. There may be more of an "all or nothing" return out there, but the percent paid out is hard to beat IMHO. There is good competition. I 've done a bunch of these (and many others) over the years and there are rarely owners who don't have a clue. I play other leagues to win money (national salary cap games) and these for the competition. On good years I'll win money in Phenoms also.I hope to see you in the DEEP leagues!

Don't most leagues do that to handle correspondence, trades, etc?

I don't know, maybe? But playing in ESPN, Yahoo etc. you at least have the option to make your info private.
