He was an actor's actor. The one that stands out for me is Ides of March. Would highly recommend that for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I haven't seen a ton of films where he was the lead actor, but I remember him in great supporting roles in The Big Lebowski, Twister, Scent of a Woman, and Boogie Nights.
