He'll be missed.....

"Back, back, this one looks like a homer..........and Rollins makes the catch on the run into the outfield."

What a loss! The only voice I've ever known for Phillies games.... They will just never be the same to listen to any more!!!!

More sad news in what's been a tough season so far.
how so?
Not for the Phillies specifically but in baseball in general. There was the death of the pitcher for the Angels by car accident I believe.Somewhere in heaven Harry Callis and Harry Carey are having one hell of a conversation that we should all be listening to :lmao:

Growing up in NJ, I was lucky enough to get Phils games while I was growing up. My brothers and I would try and imitate him all the time. Phils were always my favorite National League team and Harry was 1 of the reasons why. Michael Jack Schmidt was the other.

RIP Harry.

A sad day in Philly. We lost a great man today, aside from his legendary work. Thank you Harry for making baseball an awesome experience for my entire life, you will be missed.

Long drive...DEEP left field....watch that baby.... OUTTA here..... Michael. Jack. Schmidt. #500.

A class act and will be sorely missed.

I remember when Whitey died (Richie Ashburn) and Wheels stepped up. No way anyone can step in for Harry.

At least he went out with the Phils on top.

God bless you Harry.

He's just one of those great announcing voices that I've grown up listening to and who for me define sports, and who I will miss. **** Enberg, Pat Summerall, Vin Scully, Jack Buck, Harry Kalas. Maybe a couple of others. It makes me sad that I can't listen to those guys call games for my entire life.

What an awful loss. For Phillies fans, for baseball fans, and for NFL fans. He was not just a legendary announcer with a voice that just can't be reproduced, he was a great guy as well.

Really tough day for his brother yesterday. His brother is the President of Asbury Theological Seminary. Yesterday he had a really tough meeting where he had to announce layoffs of a bunch of staff due to the economy. He found out right after the meeting that his younger brother Harry had died.
