Harrington looked pretty good at times in the preseason. Any talk going on about putting C-pep on the bench or do you just roll with him until you miss the playoffs?

I cannot fathom a situation where Culpepper is benched, other than for injury. This is a young team. Even when out of the playoffs, Culpepper will be the guy. Joey is not a prospect they will want to preview or or review. They know what they have in Joey.

I agree, however, that INJURY may already be in place. I'm one of Daunte's biggest fans but after last week I have doubts about his health. I think physically he's not 100% and it's affecting him mentally. I wouldn't have fathomed a switch to Harrington at all this year, but I'm having doubts right now. I don't think Saban waits much longer,he won't let the season get away from him. If they wind up 2-4 I think Joey's in,if they lose this week it'll be sooner.

I do not disagree about benching for injury. But, I read the original post as one asking if Culpepper will be benched due to performance.

It's a bit of a catch 22,the injury is affecting his performance I think. I've watched Duante since his senior year in high school, through UCF and onto the Vikes,he's not the same player,he's not reacting the same to situations and physically he looks awkward. It's a tough spot for him and saban. Personally I'd like to see him bounce back, but I don't think that'll happen this year,I believe he needed more time to heal.

Unfortunately for him, the NFL does not allow "time to heel". After the Dolphins come up short against Houston this week, the Joey chants will be heard. Thank God he is not in Detroit any longer.

I think he can heal while playing - but I don't expect him to feel - or perform - particularly well in the fourth q. until the end of Oct.That said, once the phins are 2-2 after beating Houston, any calls for Harrington will have died out. After that, the phins have:@NE @NYJ GB byeIf they win two of those three, and enter the bye week at 4-3, C-Pepp's job is safe. If they go 1-2 and are 3-4 at the bye, talk will be there about his health. If they lose all 3, and enter the bye week 2-5, C-Pepp's job is in serious jeopardy.
