Phrases/terms that need to be retired immediately (1 Viewer)

Has the word "Reboot" been mentioned yet? If it hasn't, allow me to toss it into the ring. Saying a movie is being "rebooted" instead of "remade" makes you sound like a conceited ##### canoe who is trying hard to sound cool and hip. It's lame. It's almost as bad as referring to new albums or books as "dropping". Stop that. You are middle aged and abundantly white with a full vocabulary at your disposal. Opting to use terms like "reboot" or "drop" when "remake" or "release" are perfectly acceptable makes you sound like a gigantic poser.
:goodposting: #1 on my list right now.

This is Reboot to me.

Beginning a point with "again..."

It's a pissy way to say "I told you already"

The best is when people use it but they never mentioned it before. Sportscasters do it a lot.

Between this and "tactical" or "tactically," I want to bludgeon my boss.

Use it in a sentence.
Again, we need to get tactical with him so he understands the value of workflow. Expand the base.
This was copied and pasted from an IM.

Holy crap.

I always thought smh meant Sarah Michelle Gellar. Yeah, I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but now that I've learned it means shakes my head, I'm convinced that my interpretation is much less stupid.

Not really a specific phrase, but can we just stop making acronyms for everything? Maybe it is just the world of education, but everything has an acronym and things are constantly getting renamed and given a new acronym.

"Sorry I missed the IEP, but I was at NCA prepping for the MME. Was she certified as SLD?" "It was just a REED, not an IEP, but we think she might be ASD. The SSW is going to run a FBA and BIP in the meantime. Head's up, she might get pulled from your class for ESL and the TC might come observe so she has a narrative for the PLAAFP." "Ok, When is the MET?" "Not sure yet. Hey, have you been to RESA lately? I need more CEUs for PD and am looking for something good. Maybe something on RTI or PBI?"
It is worse than a 15 year girls Twitter feed.

 Similar to beginning an answer to a question with "Look...." Seems to be kind of a patronizing lecture. Pretty common with the politicians these days.

Is it ok if you are repeating yourself to the same person(s) for the 3rd or 4th time? At some point, is it ok to be a little rude to get your point across?

Look, we've already explained that term needs to be retired.

It's very peculiar. That's why it needs to be retired.

BransonOk, this is played out. It's time to retire the slogan.
Seen T-shirts for this in Ann Arbor as well. Although a more accurate slogan would have been "Keep Ann Arbor a $#*% Hole"
