Pick 4: Barnett, Fletcher-Baker, Harrison, Marshall (1 Viewer)

12 team redraft.

Start 3 IDP, any position.

Solo = 1

Sack = 2

FF = 3

FR = 2

PD = 1

INT = 3

TD = 6

Safety = 2

Bl. Kick = 3

Same old story.

A few players get it, but my league still runs rampant with IDP noobs.

You know what I mean, drafting the "big" names first (Polamalu, Jason Taylor, Charles Woodson)

Knee jerking after one week (one owner just dropped Rodney Harrison for Walt Harris).

Lots of top guys went undrafted.

I know.

I'm not proud.

But it a $$ league, so what the hey.

:bag:

Anyway, on to the question.

I'm only carrying 1 bench IDP, so of the following, which 4 should I carry:

Combo of my team and some choice free agents

Nick Barnett

London Fletcher-Baker

Rodney Harrison

Lemar Marshall

Kirk Morrison

Antonio Pierce

Adrian Wilson

Will Witherspoon

TIA

BarnettFletcherMorrisonPierceWitherspoonThese guys have the best shot at 100 solo tackles this season and that scoring system is heavily weighted toward tackles. Marshall has an outside chance as well, but is less likely than these five. Morrison has the least big play capability thus far so I'd go with the other four, but you might play around with bye week issues before making a decision.

Nice list Jene. I would also throw in Lemar Marshall who had 13 tackles in week 1 :excited:

Interested in why no one has mentioned Wilson yet.

He had more solos last year than everyone on this list (except for Fletcher)

and (using this scoring) ended up with more fantasy points than

every single player on this list (including Fletcher).

Has ARI changed their scheme.

Is he injured?

Has he changed positions?

Good point.Fleshing out the argument a bit more, Witherspoon and Morrison move to MLB and Pierce should be healthy all season. It's extremely rare to see a DB top 90 solos (in prior seasons Wilson didn't top 80) and the Cardinals figure to be better both overall and at linebacker which should hold down Wilson's ceiling just a bit.Wilson has a valid argument but I have a hard time confidently projecting a safety to out-tackle a solid group of MLB.

Doesn't happen a lot, but I wouldn't quite say extremely rare.There've been a couple every year since 2000:2005: Michael Lewis (93), Adrian Wilson (93), Gibril Wilson (92)2004: Rodney Harrison (96), Robert Griffith (92)2003: Rodney Harrison (94), Antoine Winfield (94)2002: Adam Archuleta (102), Mike Green (100)2001: Rodney Harrison (91)2000: Pat Tillman (118!), Rodney Harrison (101), Taje Allen (93), Mike Minter (91), Lawyer Milloy (90)

While this scoring is weighted toward solos, don't discount the other things Wilson brings to the table:9 PDs in 2005 (as good as a solo).11 PDs in 20048 Sacks in 2005 (if they blitz him as much as they did last year, gotta figure on at the very least 4 or 5 this year)

I have rostered A Wilson for the last few years and finally had to take him high this year due to his consistent production last year. I think you really have to take the LB here, but A Wilson is going to get after the QB at least a few times in each game, and he may actually have more opportunities as teams are going to have to toss the ball around to match Az's offensive production- he missed A Smith by a hair last week.

I have Morrison and Barnett and just blindly added Ryans, but think Witherspoon will do well. What about Hayes? People seem really high on him.

1) DeMeco Ryans - 141 FPs, 119 Solos

2) Lance Briggs - 139 FPs, 108 Solos

3) London Fletcher-Baker - 136 FPs, 96 Solos

4) Adrian Wilson - 135 FPs, 75 Solos

5) Antonio Pierce - 130 FPs, 109 Solos

6) Keith Bulluck - 125 FPs, 95 Solos

7) Ronde Barber - 125 FPs, 84 Solos

8) Chris Hope - 124 FPs, 87 Solos

9) Jason Taylor - 123 FPs, 38 Solos

10) Adam Jones - 122 FPs, 50 Solos
