Pick Me, Pick Me (1 Viewer)

David,

I'd like to participate again if possible. I've done well in past high stakes leagues as well as FBG leagues. I'm not going to get into all the acolades that have been bestowed upon me, but let's just say that I've made a mockery of staff members in former contests (except for the time that you kicked my ### in the 2003 WCOFF Draftmasters league because I was so ####### drunk that I passed out during it). It was a good thing that a wheelchair was available at the RIO that year. That alone might be consideration for a lifetime exemption into this competition, and I'm sure you enjoyed your $6K that year.

If that's not enough, Foresthill is relatively close and I can always hunt you down. :shiny:

See you in Vegas.

I've been an active poster for years and a reliable drafter in the FBG-run competitions. Come on Dodds/Clayton, do you really want to be waiting around in the draft room, desperately scrambling to find a replacement for some guy who forgot the draft date?

I didn't think so.

Long long time member of FBG. Not funny enough to win the caption contests (I must not have a humor gene), so I will resort to begging. How's that?

already replied in here once.....saw the new thread...would love a shot if theres an opening.....available for last minute replacement as well.....

I am short, I have been gaining weight, and I have an average sized penis on a good day.
Go to the FFA, find GM's Thread about Nothing (GM's thread about everything), find my name on the first post, and, well, that's it.And B-Deep, everyday I read your posts is a good day.

Bump in case folks can still make their case.

Even if the spots are filled there usually are a couple of spots that open up on draft night so the :excited: move would be to state a case here and be on the boards around those times the drafts are looking to kick off.

Good luck to those still trying to get in.

:goodposting: What QG said. Happened in at least two drafts last year.

For your review:

I'm a founding father of the PFFFL (Pogos and Friends Fantasy Football League) which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. As the first commissioner of that league, I shudder when I remember what some of the old guys went through to tabulate scoring and send out weekly updates (usually via snail mail) to all league members. It was a different time.

In that league, I am the current record holder in a number of categories, but the only two that matter are the number of Fantasy Bowls won and all-time winning percentage. I hold comfortable leads in each of those.

I've been around a long time, back to the yellow days. I would qualify if invites were limited to extremely low three digiters. I've had an article published in your big book (2004 maybe?) titled Anti-Establishment Auction Drafting Strategies.

For our league's 20th anniversary, we're doing it up right with a whole weekend full of festivities that culminates with our draft. It would be an honor to have one of our league members join in on your fun.

Thanks!

Simply because I've never been picked for any of these - not for Ultimate Survivor, or Staff vs Posters leagues, or anything else you've done over the years.

I submitted haiku poems in the years you asked for those...but sadly was never selected.

I submitted captions for pictures that you asked about...but sadly was never selected.

I submitted posts about why I should be selected for something...but sadly was never selected.

I wanted in badly enough to send Joe a private email a couple years back asking why some of the same guys were always selected year after year...yet I was never selected.

I am addicted to FF.

Within FBG community:

- I play in two MOX leagues (with several other posters).

- I play in two HyperActive leagues (with several other posters).

- I've participated in Anarchy, SSL, WSL, PDSL, MBSL leagues.

Outside of FBG community:

- I play in four re-draft leagues.

- I play in one keeper league (plus the dynasty leagues mentioned above).

...but sadly I will once again, not be selected.

I am lovely and adorable

I do favors on the side

I have been a FBG for a long time, rarely banned, often loved

I once created a who's hottest poll of moderator pictures. I rooted for you

but I dont think your handome face was the winner.

I have big feet and my hands are larger then the hands of Otis which was done

in a hands off thread in the FFA.

You will love me, Im wonderful and fantastic and I am not jewish

dirtyhalos (7/29/2010 12:52:00 PM): please say something complimentary about my fantasy football worth... so i can cut/paste to my "application letter" for dodds survivor contest...

Sigmund Bloom (7/29/2010 12:54:17 PM): dirtyhalos is one of my favorite people to talk FF with in the entire community. He's a good-natured dude who puts in a lot of time to run star-studded leagues with a lot fo FBG staff and illustrious board members, and he always keeps things light-hearted even though he catches a lot of flak from the peanut gallery. I fully endorse him as the Bloom #1 overall selection among the Shark Pool for the ultimate survivor contest.

:iwin:

I played in and won the first ever "buon giorno" fantasy football league run by the Mike and Mike morning show. If that isn't a :lmao: to get in, nothing is.

I play in a $4,000 entry, Super-WCOFF, triple-reverse, double down, mirror league with a modified PPFDR base 8 scoring system, and we just held our draft in July. For the 2013 season. You think Matt Barkley getting the start in USC is news? I drafted him after studying up on him, after he signed his letter of intent, last year. You think that maybe going with a WR in the first two rounds instead of back-to-back RBs is somehow new thinking in fantasy? Well, do you have the balls to do what I did this year when I didn't take my first RB until the fourth round (Roderick Smith, Harding High School of Indiana)? You've probably never even heard of Martavis Bryant, Kyle Prater, or Darius White, yet not only did I draft them this year to form my future WR core, I've also started referring to them by fantasy board nicknames (Super Mart, KPrater, & DoubleDarius). Hell, guys like you are going to be the poor schmucks who are searching this board five years from now for info on some great RB you just heard of out of the middle of nowhere in Alaska, and the FBG search result box is going to come up with this very post, where I brag about nabbing Isaiah Weeks of the Monroe Catholic Rams at the 25.32/26.01 turn a full two months before he lit up Delta Junction for 193 yards/2 TDs or Ketchikan for 183 rushing yards, 55 rec yards, & 2 TDs. You'll be wondering about his durability and I'll remember a phone call I made back when you were just hearing the name "Knowshon Moreno" for the first time to the kid's doctor in Fairbanks about the sprain he suffered in his left ankle in 2008.

Let me give you a tip, IT = INFO, and there's no "expires by" date on it.

1) Long time FBG subscriber

2) Judge the home brewed beverages division at local county fairs

3) Never miss a league date or even a pick

4) Got some game with survivor type formats and would like to see how I match up against the experts; suck at redraft, dynasty :lmao:

5) Was belching champion of my dorm floor (keeps me in shape for #2)

OK.....school's over...got my A's (Anatomy and Micro....yuck!) and NOW I have time to thinkup witty captions......

What was the time limit for this PICK ME thread? Cause my odds keep decreasing with every new entrant

Dodds, I would love to have a spot. Don't forget about me telling you that you should start a contest similar to the Footballguys Players Championship in Vegas last year. Glad to see you took my advice and made it happen. This is too good a brand name to be left out of the arena. I'll see you there again.

I have no knowledge concerning the contest of which you speak.

Your avatar doesn't match the perception that I have of your persona.

Should have used the word worthy instead of worth.

I no longer have the energy to compete with younger guys.

I don't have any interest of reading the butt kissing messages in this thread.

The only trophy I ever won was when my grand daughter handed me a "greatest grandpa in the world" one on father's day in 1989.

I saw that you said that we were limited to one message with less than 500 words.............this is mine.

I have pissed off lots of people on this board who would love to get a chance to play against me. Been here since the days of the yellow board. Have been to the playoffs the first 4 years of the HA1. I think I'm the winningest regular season team but haven't won the SB yet. My main league, and a sister league with guys who split off to make their own league, has a salary cap, player contracts, option years, restricted free agency (Franchise and Transition tag), draft pick compensation, and signing bonuses. Each owner has a 6 foot banner with his team logo and a mini helmet. We award a large trophy and Superbowl ring to the winner. I won the main league three years ago and the sister league last year. I don't put my roster in my signature.I make a mean steak as long as you like rare or medium rare.I stopped posting in political threads because it's pointless. Nobody is convincing anyone of anything.I'm one of Joe Bryant's Facebook friends.I have a 2 year old and a 7 week old. I don't get out much or sleep. I need this.
I vote for this guy. ;)

I would like to participate in the US contest again this year.I have played the past couple of years.I commish the Hyper/Active leagues, which include many staffers and FBG regulars.I draft in each of the Survivor leagues on the Mock Draft forum.I offer my advice in the ACF as much as possible.I am active in the Shark Pool during both in season and offseason.I am a former FBG blogger.I stepped in mid-draft last year when a drafter bailed.I am flexible and available for almost any drafting time.
Good stuff. I'd like to be on the honorary acceptance committee. A lot of good stuff in here; but a lot of responses that are kind of bleh. Some people stepping up their games; others not so much.

It's embarrassing.

I'm mother ####### Tat.

I've beaten you at poker more than you've beaten me.

I know people.

- Was a fantasy football prodigy as a child, drafting my first super bowl winning team in a big money league when I was 12 years old

- Have showed flashes of seer like ability with my football predictions. For example, I correctly predicted that Dez White would have a better nfl career than Ron Dugans

- I'm in the top 1% with regards to exhibiting excellence on these boards, even remaining excellent and taking the highest of roads when a staff member was mean to me and called me names last year

- I'm very experienced with using the internets, so drafting shouldn't be an issue

Been around since 'ol Yeller

Have won 6 SB's in my 16 year old FFL, participated in 12.

I lift

Was banned because of my first post on the new boards in the dirty joke thread.

Don't wear silly bands but do go to dive bars.

Have gone camping over 10 times with a guy named Steve.

Tried the Master Cleanse.

Don't date racists.

Have been unemployed for 7 months but will still make 6 figures like all FBG's.

My 12 year old son plays Pretty Pretty Princess with his 9 and 4 year old sisters, and wins.

NEVER miss a draft.

Please help me.
