Pick Me, Pick Me (1 Viewer)

I have a weird sense of humor, competed well in double digit FBG leagues, and only aspire to the ten 'O' clock leagues.

Because I have no fear in drafting in League 4 against Dodds and Tremblay in an auction format!! Come on guys I'll take you on anytime... (starting August 11th at 7:30). Don't try and run from this challenge... :lmao:

Not sure if you're locked and loaded, but...

I've always been pretty good at these contests. Last year I won both legs, and the Championship in Footballguys IDP Survivor.

If you still need someone, send me a PM.

If not, good luck to all those who entered. These contests are a blast!

dirtyhalos (7/29/2010 12:52:00 PM): please say something complimentary about my fantasy football worth... so i can cut/paste to my "application letter" for dodds survivor contest... Sigmund Bloom (7/29/2010 12:54:17 PM): dirtyhalos is one of my favorite people to talk FF with in the entire community. He's a good-natured dude who puts in a lot of time to run star-studded leagues with a lot fo FBG staff and illustrious board members, and he always keeps things light-hearted even though he catches a lot of flak from the peanut gallery. I fully endorse him as the Bloom #1 overall selection among the Shark Pool for the ultimate survivor contest. :iwin:
I'm Sigmund Bloom and I approve this message
I'm not buying any of this by the way. :lmao:

disappointed I didn't make the cut. Now after I win the Subscriber contest maybe they will give me a shot in 2011

I was the subject of a Yahoo Sports front-page column written by Andy Behrens. He created a league specifically to play against me and test a theory of his that I was bashing on a different forum. I finished the regular season in first place and he finished in the bottom 3.

I can probably find the column if I look hard enough...it was a couple years ago.

did they give out the spots for this yet?
Seems like they've been sending PMs out but not all the leagues are full yet. Still hoping on my end. I'm a bit dissappointed, you'd think being an original message boarder and finishing first in your group last year and advancing to the second round would count for something. :fishing:

My old man was couped up in the hospital (doing OK now), so I did not get a chance to reply over the weekend:

Been playing FF for 14 seasons now

2009 Carolina Gridiron league Keep 3 Champ (local FBG league)

Married and have 3 children...we are all Jets fans

Long-time subscriber

Frequent poster

I can do a pull-up or two

I travel from NC to NJ once a year to catch a Jets game (they always lose when I go, although it never rains either)

Just enjoy the board as a "get-away" from real-life and would love to be part of the leagues here.

I've taught my 5 year old how to distinguish between Marvel and DC superheros; my wife taught him to read, so I think it is a wash

NEVER miss a draft when I commit to one

I could use the "board cred"

Never been banned, TO'ed or even had a stern talking to...I am "good" to others...

Well I guess I didn't make a case.

Multiple year subscriber

Very active on the boards for years

Chat with staff members through PM's and other means

Never been kicked off or banned from the boards

Almost made it out of the first round last year

Won 3 FF leagues last year

For your review:I'm a founding father of the PFFFL (Pogos and Friends Fantasy Football League) which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. As the first commissioner of that league, I shudder when I remember what some of the old guys went through to tabulate scoring and send out weekly updates (usually via snail mail) to all league members. It was a different time.In that league, I am the current record holder in a number of categories, but the only two that matter are the number of Fantasy Bowls won and all-time winning percentage. I hold comfortable leads in each of those.I've been around a long time, back to the yellow days. I would qualify if invites were limited to extremely low three digiters. I've had an article published in your big book (2004 maybe?) titled Anti-Establishment Auction Drafting Strategies. For our league's 20th anniversary, we're doing it up right with a whole weekend full of festivities that culminates with our draft. It would be an honor to have one of our league members join in on your fun. Thanks!
Did I mention I turned 40 on Sunday? Throw me a bone here!

I'm mother ####### Tat.I've beaten you at poker more than you've beaten me.I know people.
THIS got a spot. wtf.
It is funny.... Deserved a spot I think
 They asked for a resume...not a funny.
Yeah.. but he is Tat. That's all the resume he needs. His dad beat up OJ. Tat would flat out rob you blind at the poker table while making you laugh. He's a God amongst men. Frankly, you're not worthy to even have his posts quoted in the company of yours.

If you pick me I highly suggest you have a reserve. There is a long list of FBGs that will vote me as "most likely to get ####faced the night before, pass out somewhere uncomfortable as the sun comes up, and miss the draft"

If course, if I wake up in time for the draft I'm likely to finish in the top 40.

Seems like a gray area actually. By my read the instructions seem to encourage a variety of approaches:
Please post just once in this thread while stating your case on why you should be selected. Please keep your post below 500 words. Tell us what makes you a worth competitor in this contest, accolades won, etc.

Add me, I need this--my midlife crisis began last week.

I really, really need this.

Plus, I've lost boatloads of cash following Dodd's stock threads.

Throw me a bone.

:confused:I find this post compelling. If I had a vote, you'd be in.

I live dangerously in the Dallas Cowboy hotbed for 18 years and have professed my loyalty to the Atlanta Falcons (saw their first game ever in the stands). It's time to give a Falcon fan a break.

I have accomplished most of the other blah, blah, blah you guys have done too, multiple league/ year commissioner, money winner, trophy winner, played for 15 seasons, and still a student of the game- that's why I keep coming back to FBG

Year round active participant in the Shark Pool and all survivor leagues. FBG rep for the IBL (where I've done well). Finalist in the inaugural ULT SURV. Ran the short lived, high effort White Elephant FBG league for 2 years. Active in multiple dynasty leagues populated primarily by FBG's. Driving 5 hours to Baltimore Saturday just to draft with other FBG's in a live draft! :)

ETA: With two summertime science classes heading into the final week, I really have no time this week to spend on captions, etc., or I'd be blasting away at those things in a desperate attempt to get in.
:homer: :homer:

I can vouch for both these...Rene the madman is a member of the Misfits and motored from Va Beach to Bethesda for our annual FBG's Live Auction...he's money!
