Do people ever shoot free throws in pickup basketball games?

Not a traditional half/ full court game but in other games such as "33" or "21", absolutely.

One thing I've noticed over the last 7-8 years is how kids are ignorant of the rules. They don't know how to check the ball or think they can either take the ball out themselves or have the entire backcourt to literally walk around before passing the ball.

When I call them out on it, it's as if I'm speaking Chinese.
