I'm surprised you were able to run the pitching numbers on the entire league that quickly. I wouldn't be surprised that you'd find that I'm near the bottom if you're using projections.
You really think I need to run projections on that staff? I clicked on about 3-4 other teams, that was it. But there wasn't a team you were even close to in terms of SP quality....at least for now.
The last comment is the key. There is always pitching on waivers, rarely are there hitters unless you use one of the few bench spots on a minor leaguer. Gonna have weaknesses in a 14 teamer, so if you're going to be weak somewhere be weak with pitching.
Yeah, the Cakepie format allows unlimited free transactions so streaming 1 or 2 SP slots can be a viable strategy.

On a daily basis ??

It's extra work but it's possible. You don't need to do it every day, you just have to fill as many IP as a regular starter would. You have to stay a few days ahead on probable SPs especially if somebody else in the league is cherry picking matchups too.

can stream bats too.

Thought we were going to get some unbiased 3rd party analysis of the draft/teams, not 'knives out' for RnR's pitching...

Guys relax. This is a fantasy baseball forum. My god. It's like fantasy nerdom rebelling with limp **** leading the way. This is all in fun.

can you rate my team please?
Really strong for a 14-teamer. Love the offense, love the pitching. The one deficiency, might be a tad light on power. After Goldy/Springer, there isn't 'that' much of it. Desmond/McCann would be where it ends. Having said that, its probably middle of pack in the HR dept. Overall, w/o seeing the rest of the teams yet, this is clearly a top contender. I cant imagine there being 3-4 teams better then this one. Love that staff, Richards as your potential SP3 in a 14-teamer is elite. Cishek/Mejia/Soria are serviceable, once Nathan loses his gig to Soria, this trio will suffice.

Offense - 8

Pitching - 9

BTW, love Desmond at 25 overall, that's a heist in my eyes. HUGE year coming. .270/25/80/80/30 ...contract year, this dude turned down 90 million, he's shooting for the stars this yr.

thanks for the write up and kind words.

Hey Gildz -- this is an OBP league. Or did you have Desmond at .270 OBP?

these teams seem pretty even, nothing really jumps out. I am ok with rnr, marino, sparty, roddog. I dislike ez glider a lot I think.

team frost is solid. i would feel better with some additional pitching. solid top 2 and good RP but 700 innings need to be found. werth was good value, but he and span have IR concerns. could have a better bench and UT spots need to be better, much. contender with proper mgmt.

Don't forget about that mediocre Cuban that is going to be locking down GABP this summer. You snagged him, too.

you know nothing of mr. iglesias. keep his name out your mouth.

also I was hammered and in Vegas, my last 3 picks were basically just me naming guys I knew would still be available.

Now we both know that isn't true. Raisel was the 13th name. TBH, I'm just impressed you pull that guy out of your head during happy hour at the Goldspike.

Shady, Widbil83, Jamny, Frosty (light on speed) are the top 4 teams in this league. Best balance overall by a decent margin IMO. Marino is next but his closers are horrific, so i'll put him on the next tier.

Outside of Rosenthal, I'm going to need to scavenge some saves too. Should have jumped on the Parnell drop.

I like my team's balance. Didn't take too many risks, most have a little track record.

Based on the simple questions you were needing answered re: daily leagues, I'm not sure you know what makes a good team in this format.

Good players?

Your offense is terrific. Your pitching staff looks to be the worst in the league. But yes have fun streaming starters every night I suppose.

You keep saying that about my pitching staff, and I just don't agree with you. I took offense early with the plan on taking those pitchers later in the draft on purpose. I like each of them quite a bit for 2015. For a guy that relied on the "You're too conservative" talking point in the other thread RE: Cobb, you have very little faith in some top notch arms that have yet to "prove themselves" in fantasy circles. Need a little forward vision to land some value, Gilda.

You're equating a guy like Cobb with 500 IP of proven success to 2 guys who aren't even guaranteed starting gigs? And haven't shown anything at the major league level yet..? Umm.. I have no issue taking chances and stand by that. I have issues with taking chances on about 67% of your starting rotation. You're comfortable streaming SP's daily if need be, that's fine. But if you think that rotation is on par with those other teams in this league, you're just lost.

I didn't equate Cobb to anyone. Try reading that again.

I think we've established you aren't a fan on my pitching staff. No need to re-hash it. You went there because I said I don't think you have a clue about winning a league in this format. I stand by that statement.

Again, your staff 'at the moment' isn't very good. You seem to be in denial about that for some reason. That's fine. Where would you rank your staff compared to the other teams?

And I know how daily leagues work, I choose not to participate in them, especially for this kind of entry fee. The work u need to put in vs the reward is outrageous. Good luck to you though. I hope at least 2 of those 4 question marks pan out for your sake.

Thanks for sticking on the topic of my pitching.

Did you get into the ME or not? Seems silly to talk about investment of time/money in this league if you're poking around in NFBC satellite leagues. The FAAB in those is more labor intensive than this league could ever be. All for a similar investment where STATS keeps a nice little portion of the loot.

The 1 waiver wire per week is more labor intensive then a daily league? Are you out of your mind? My god
