Pittsburgh at Baltimore (1 Viewer)

I see this game being a low scoring fantasy dud. Unfortunately I have both Mendenhall and Rice on my team and have considered benching one of them for Gerhart (If AP is out). Is anyone else avoiding this match up this weekend?

I get that sense as well even though the Baltimore defense isn't what it once was and can give up a lot of points. I have to start Rice since I really don't have any other decent options. Benching Ben for Schaub though. I don't want to have two offensive players in the game in case it is low scoring like I think. Ben's ankle scares me too. Pitt may run a ton to take the pressure off of him.

Making a prediction now...

One of the Steelers, and possibly a Raven, will be suspended the following week for a play in this game.

And the Ravens players/coaches will have little to no problem with that play. They will applaud physical play within the confines of the sport.

*Though their fans may go ape####.

I think the only safe start is Mendenhall. He'll rush for less than 75yards, but he'll score at least one 1 yard TD.

I actually could see this thing going the other way, 27-24 type game. I have no Steelers or Ravens, so no skin in the game, but Ravens D can be scored on and at home perhaps a few Ravens TDs open this one up. Also I like Rice to do some damage through the air.

my 2 qbs r ben and flacco
I'm riding with Flacco over Ben, If I had to bet Id say they end up within a couple of points from each other so I see it as a wash.
really? Im going the other way. Ravens pass defense is pretty bad. I can be convinced otherwise.
Ravens aren't bad against the pass, and have done a decent job at shutting down the opposing teams #1 but not necessarily everyone else. Mike Williams might not be the best example but they held him to his lowest yardage of the season in a game where they threw quite a bit. I would go Flacco over Ben in this one, although as others I would prefer to stay away from the matchup.

Tom Brady showed the entire league how to beat Pittsburgh through the air.

I think this is the week Boldin comes back to life.

While I feel fine benching McFadden this week when he's in a crappy matchup, I don't feel good doing the same to Mendy. He has too much talent to be sitting on the bench, and I definitely agree that Ben is not at 100% health, which will force the Steelers to establish the run.

The guy on my roster that I'm not touching with a 10 foot pole this week is Boldin. But watch; I'm sure he'll go off for 80 yards and two TDs.

The Ravens D is 5th in points, 8th in total yards, 7th or 8th against the pass, and 10th against the run.

Not nearly as "awful" as some are saying.

#2 in yards per pass#9 in comp % allowed

#15 in interceptions

#26 TD passes allowed

#11 in yards per rush allowed

#5 in rush TDs allowed

#8 in yards per game allowed

#12 in yards per play allowed

A very solid defense.

I may have to start him, after I swore he was dead to me after last week...

What else are you working with? I just can't bring myself to start him over Colston and rookie Mike Williams. Benched him last week as well after getting burned too much.

Yeah, if I were you no chance I would start him over those two... My other options would be Malcom Floyd who played like 15 snaps this week, just picked up Obamanu (who I may go with but BMW might be back) or I could pick up Jacoby Ford... So a nice stack of suckage basically.

Brady has been doing this against the Steelers for years but for some reason the rest of the league insists on trying to run the ball for the first 2 and 1/2 quarters until they must pass (and usually with success). I think the Ravens could win this game easily if they go to a short passing game right from the start but I have a feeling they won't so the Steelers have a chance at the upset.I am playing Flacco and Mendenhall but I think Rice is a very solid play. I also think that Ward, Wallace, Miller, Boldin and Heap could have nice games. This game could be lopsided or close, and could be low scoring or a shoot out -- I really don't know. The one thing I do expect is a VERY physical game. These teams do not like each other and the division is on the line so this game has the makings of a classic.

I've been rolling with Big Ben and will continue to roll with him over Garrard. The matchup looks bad but I've been wrong on almost every matchup play I've chosen this year.

OK I think youve convinced me to play Flacco over Roeth since theyre the home team and Flacco plays well at home. plus the whole broken foot thing. I also have PIT def and am considering benching them since theyve been average at best since like week 4 and BAL is 28th in the league in pts allowed to opposing def. Thoughts?

Benching Flacco for Orton. Rice is the one tormenting me....I have Calvin and Steve Johnson. I hate to bench my 1st round pick but the Steelers D could shut him down. I have been waiting for more screen passes and just haven't seen the level of success I was hoping for. I hate to bench Calvin but with stanton at qb against the Bears, this has been the toughest week for me to decide who to play....fortunately I am 11-1 and pretty much a lock for a first round bye so I am more interested in catching the points leader as I am in 2nd and both have nice payouts. I think Calvin has a better chance to score higher even though he has a 3rd string qb throwing to him.

At the moment I'm sitting Rice for Forte and Moreno. It's a toss-up though and I'm sure I'll end up switching it nine times before benching the one guy who goes off for 200/3.

The good play this week is going to be Mason. I hate to start him being a Pittsburgh fan, but Baltimore is going to be able to dink and dunk all day against Pitt. The beneficiary will be Mason along with Rice.
