Pittsburgh at Detroit (1 Viewer)

Still have hopes for Abdullah's future, but I'm glad I won't HAVE to start him again this year unless someone else gets hurt.
Don't sweat it, as long as its first or second down, between the 25 and 37 yard line, with at least 3 minutes to go in the 1st or 3rd quarter, on the 2nd or 4th sunday on a november of a leap year, he is guaranteed to be on the field picking up a blitz....

There aren’t words for how much I hate that 3rd down draw.
There aren't words that won't get me banned from the board. Seriously, you need a TD. Even if that somehow gains 3 against a Steelers D you haven't been able to get 1 on, it does nothing for you.

but staffors is elite?  5 red zone trips with no td doesn't mean anything

I could see throwing to a RB. But the draw was just getting cute when you don’t have the time or downs to afford to get cute.

I like that shovel pass play to JuJu there on 3rd and 1.

Spread formation caused a lot of confusion.

Robsinson sick of this game just starts throwing punches. Two Steelers threw punches but thats ok I guess.

Ballgame.

Defense good enough, Offense lacking. Yes, I acknowledge how tough the Steelers D is, but 3 times inside the 5 = 3 points is just pathetic. Caldwell's going to be reminded that 7 FGs could win, but show no emotion because he doesn't. Lions just can't win the important ones in a division up for grabs. They better beat a Hundley-led Packers team, or else it looks like another season of lost opportunity.

That's ok, punches only hurt for a minute.  They build character.

Wow, coming off a bye, home game... Saving grace, they beat Min, and still play GB twice, so they aren't out of it.  I don't know that they can catch Min though, I think Min will probably win 5 of their next 8, so Detroit has no room for error.  Detroit's schedule is winnable, but still..

As a Vikings fan I hope so.

The second half of the schedule is a lot of road games though. So I don't know.

What did he do to earn this ire?

I missed most of this game.
He was repeatedly stuffed inside the 5. He would essentially just close his eyes and dip his head down before making any contact. It was painful to watch.

He was also the 3rd down back over Riddick in the first half. I'm assuming it has something to do with blocking but either way he pissed off a lot of DET fans. He also left the game with a concussion but apparently no one noticed.

Riddick was outstanding in pass pro last night, picked up the blitzer repeatedly. The O-line did OK, allowed “only” two sacks - big improvement over the three previous games - but they did give up a lot of hurries. TE were a combined 3/11 and the run game was non-existent beyond what AA made on his own.

Matthew Stafford completed just 2 of his 11 red-zone passes, for 6 yards and a sack. The RBs gained 4 yards on five RZ carrie. Washington has never been a power RB, in college or in Detroit. Don’t know why they thought last night would be different.

Not going to win games when you go 2-12/0-2 on 3rd/4th down. Held AB to 5-70 (mostly Slay) and Bell to 25-76, but per usual generated very little pressure on the QB.

Frustrating.
