Pittsburgh at Kansas City (2 Viewers)

Ben and Tomlin bailed out by a lucky break.  I'll take it but not feeling good about this team as a super bowl contender.
I was wondering why they went to pass that there...a run for 2 gets first down and runs clock down to under 2 30 or start uses KC TOs....a pass falls incomplete and it stops clock. Sometimes you are lucky

It was a dumb playcall and a terrible pass.  Bell has been running crazy all day.  Keep it in his hands or go with a short, safe route

Apparently the Chiefs are only willing/able to play the Steelers like they do everyone else in the final 5 minutes.

The first 55 mins, the Steelers are our Sith Overlords. Bow down.

IMO, you do not call timeout after this 2nd down, otherwise Pitt can throw on 3rd and the clock stops either way (at the 2-minute warning).

Yup bad move.  And not really sure how a coach as experienced as Reid doesn't think of that?

If they lose this, I don’t know how Tomlin’s seat doesn’t get warm. I’ve been a pretty staunch defender of his and his schtick is getting really old and stale.

I agree completely.  I don't want to hear that he's an above average coach.  I'm not seeing it this year.

Great as a return as that was, he's the most important guy they need on this drive.

Absolutely no luck whatsoever. Brutal game. Brutal.

On this drive, KC is missing their starting:

LG, C, RG, WR1, WR2, WR3

And their all-world TE is clearly nowhere near 100% his usual self.

:lmao: :wall:

Not that I like excuses but you're exactly right.  This is why I'm not feeling warm and cozy about a win on the road against an undefeated team.  The play calling was questionable and Ben is still not the Ben of old.  Fortunately the division stinks.

Hallelujah. Shouldn't have been that close, but a win is a win. I'm not going to nitpick here - all last week, all we heard is that the Steelers window may have closed, Ben is washed up, the Chiefs are the clear cream of the AFC (or even the NFL), and the Steelers just went into Arrowhead and won. Completely flips the script.

Chiefs game plan seemed very predictable. I could only follow online from  my market, but from the tweets I saw, the Steelers were up in KC’s kitchen almost every play. The receptions for a loss and run stuffs seem to support that.

Seemed like nearly every drive started with a pass to Hill on 1st down. Hard to get your run game going constantly facing 2nd & 10.

Tough game for the Chiefs - seemed winnable. I did watch the last quarter, and Smith missed a wide open Hunt before taking the sack on 3rd and 10. Hunt has a lot of open field in front of him if Smith dumps it off, but instead he’s looking for something downfield while taking the sack.

That one was on Smith - it’s clearly 4-down territory, take the dump off to Hunt, let him work & see what you’ve got on 4th down. Even if Hunt gets 0 YAC there it’s 4th and 6 instead of 4th & 18. Just a terrible decision to swallow that ball.

For how much they pushed KC around, that game had no business going down to the wire.    But, win is a win.   I'll take it.

side note -- I've had more than enough of Mike Mitchell.    He's dirty.    Don't want him back next year.
