Pittsburgh D (1 Viewer)

I expect a nice rebound at home vs. Seattle this week but are they still a top 3 fantasy D?

There is no way in hell they can possibly repeat last weeks crapfest. That's a positive.

They're too good not to rebound, and I hope they maintain top 5 status from here on out.

Last week's bad fantasy numbers were moreso about the SEVEN offensive turnovers the Pittsbugh Offense had, than how the defense actually played.

Baltimore scored 20 points off turnovers, if I calculated corectly.

This is true but the defense did not play well at all. One of the hallmarks of the Steelers defense is being stout against the run but last week both Ray Rice and Ricky Williams had success running the ball.I chalk it up to coming out flat and playing a team that was clearly more ready to play football than they were. They were embarrassed last week and I fully expect them to take it out on Seattle.

Maybe its me, but it seems the majority of the years the Steelers start slow they tend to finish well and vise versa.

This was at Baltimore. Baltimore had alot of time to stew over their last game against the Steelers. The next game will be at the Steelers. Pretty sure this is an aberation. Moreover, historically, it will likely fuel the Steelers going forward. I would say the defense is likely going to rebound, although I'd be worried about the O Line. Thy looked pretty shaky. Pittsburg should move to shore that up now or the defense wont hold up.

On another note, did anyone catch the shots the Baltimore D put on Hines Ward during the game. Tell me they weren't thinking about last year and Wards shot. Just sayin. Payback is a beotch.

They looked uninterested, unmotivated, flat-footed, slow, complacent and many other non-flattering adjectives. I don't think Tomlin will allow this to happen again any time soon. Look for a statement game. I don't think it'll be pleasant for anyone on the Seahawks.

ThisEven though the Steelers are getting a little long in the tooth, I will catagorize this as a "snowball" game - just one of those days where nothing goes right - until I see that performance repeated a few more times (don't expect that). I don't think Seattle has the stuff to do much damage to what's going to be an angry bunch on Sunday. If I were Tavares Jackson, I'd make sure all of my papers were in order.I'd be a little worried about Polomalu, though. I wonder if the injuries haven't started taking their toll on him. Flacco did a good job of moving him around but, even when he was in position, he didn't seem to have that amazing closing speed to make a play he has in years past.

Based on what I saw in the preseason I think Polamalu is fine. I think the Ravens had an excellent game plan and executed it perfectly. They caught the Steelers with their pants down and really never let up. I don't think he really had much of an opportunity to make an impact. In limited play during the preseason Polamalu was flying around like the Polamalu of old. The real question with him is how long will he stay healthy going at that speed?
