Pittsburgh vs. Denver (1 Viewer)

My thoughts on the Broncos thus far:

Rush defense is still a concern and frankly looks like ####. Champ, Goodman, Cox, Hill, and Dawkins is a damn fine secondary. If I was Wink I would be rushing 5 every play and force the QB to beat our top 5 secondary.

Rush offense looks better, but with so many injuries and shuffling it is hard to tell. We won't be dominant in that area this year, and frankly with 1-2 rookies, and multiple 3 years or younger, on the O-line I'm not surprised. As long as they can offer good protection and decent run blocking I'll be content.

Pass offense looks to be solid with a lot of WR depth. Orton has been pretty good thus far, minus that bad interception.

Dwyer with a 17 yd run carrying guys on his back, then rips off a 40 yd run right after that. I'm really liking what the kid is showing --- what a burst!

When exactly did Charlie Batch become the Steelers #4 QB? I remember him being one of the better backup QBs in the league, and he's playing like it tonight.

I just texted this to a buddy of mine. I hope Batch stays with Steelers in the future as a coach. The guy seems to be a complete football nerd if you've ever heard him talk. After about five minutes of him speaking I feel like a complete moron, at least moreso than usual.

If the Steelers cut Dwyer, he want be unemployed long. I say he makes it and Tomlin will ride him until he plays hard every down.

Syd Quan is an outstanding player, the Broncos got a steal.

He appears to have zero vision. Not impressed with anything other than his speed (when nobody is near him).#43 on Denver looks superhuman out there. If his spot on the roster was in doubt before, he should have a spot locked down now.

Batch broke his wrist in November and he wasn't back to 100% by the time Leftwich was signed in April. Combine that with the fact that Batch is 35 years old and hasn't started a game in 3 years, and it seemed natural for Leftwich and Dixon to be ahead of him on the depth chart. It was assumed by some that Batch would be cut once Roethlisberger returned from suspension.....but it's looking now like maybe Leftwich is the one who should be cut.

:hot: Leftwich is the opening day starter. Tomlin has done a horrible job handling the QBs this preseason and I really have no idea what he was trying to accomplish last night.
