The New York Giants agreed to a new deal with Plaxico Burress hours before the season opener against the Washington Redskins on Thursday.

The five-year, $35 million deal with the Giants top wide receiver is worth $11 million in the first year.

Burress had three years left on his previous contract that pays him $3.25 million this season.
