Plaxico Burress (1 Viewer)

Sep 3 New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress (back spasms) is feeling better and should return to full practice this week. He said he expects to play against the Dallas Cowboys during Week 1.

Found this at my yahoo league site....no link sorry.

I got him in one league as my WR4. Apparently, nobody trusted him and he slid really far until I picked him up. So, that gives me the liberty to put him on the bench for a bit and see just what the heck he's going to do this season.

Do not make this mistake....Dallas will be without Newman and Aaron Glenn has been cut....add to that the fact that their safeties (yes, Roy W) cannot cover anyone with speed and they cannot pressure a QB, expect Plax to take off here

Good info. Makes me feel better about having to start Eli in a league.

I am starting both Eli & Plax with confidence. Dallas was 24th in pass D last year....they have done nothing to improve that. New scheme means more coverage breakdowns at least in week 1 and early part of season. Also, Dallas was 10th in run D last year....again, new scheme will have an impact but they have not gotten any weaker with their run D. Giants will be forced to pass more given Dallas will score on that bad Giants secondary....expect a shoot out, start Eli and Plax. Also, last year in week 7:Giants 36 Cowboys 22 (Eli 189 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT/Burress 2 catches 94 yds 1 TD)Also, last year in week 13:Cowboys 23 Giants 20 (Eli 270 yds, 2 TD/Burress 6 catches 43 yds 1 TD)All data points to the same thing - start them both

I own plax also and i agree that ''normaly'' plax is a no brainer , however he and eli have yet to practice together this season....kinda makes me weary.

wary...anyway, they will have plenty of plays designed to put the ball in his hands, I would not hesitate to start him

The Dallas D is a completely different defense when Newman isn't playing. I like Plax this week.

Thanks for correcting me and making me smarter....WARY.Plenty of school teachers on this board

What did I tell you guys?

100+ yards and 2 Tds already and it is only one half....considering the NYG D will give up a few more points, expect Burress to get more points for you in 2nd half

*Championship*

:(

For the past 3 years, i have been amazed at how little attention Plax has received, at least in the 3 "annual" leagues i play in. He seems to always be a great value pick in the middle rounds. Of course, he has been an all-or-none kind WR, so maybe that scares people away. But, as a WR2, i would start him every week
