Play Bryce? (1 Viewer)

Isn't McCoy still stuck in phase one of concussion test? Not sure I'd hang my hat on him returning soon.

I didn't plat Bryce. He's on my taxi squad and activating him would make him ineligible to be put back on it. I'm out of any playoff anyway so why activate him? Wish I could.

Finally talley:

- 24 carries

- 169 yards

- 2 touchdowns

- 4 receptions

- 14 receiving yards

- 1 fumble

Total combined production: 183 combined yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 fumble

I think Philly should rest Shady for the rest of this year.

The OP's take on this was as right on the money as much as his title/subtitle of the thread was misleading.

A great tip with some solid analysis, generating discussion and making the right call on Bryce.

Next time, though, maybe use the word "encourages" instead of "warns"?

evansilva: Andy Reid didn't sound like he's considering benching Bryce Brown for fumbling. Called him a "heckuva young player" & said Brown will learn.

Good for you Andy. Your team's fans are getting excited about a new regime and a high draft pick, no reason not to let Brown learn on the job. It's not hurting anything to let him figure out this fumbleitis on the field.

The fact that he carries the ball like a loaf of bread in concerning but I will take it
I will have to take your word for it. It is radio only for me. No TV yet due to the hurricane. Last time I saw Brown run was a token carry in October.
He doesn't carry the ball like a loaf of bread. He has barely carried the ball in his life against tough competition until now, so he is learning what he has to do to prevent pro DL from punching the ball out. In the meantime he is putting a breathtaking skill set on display. The reason Reid isn't criticizing him for the fumbles is that without BB the Eagles are hapless offensively and hopelessly bad. WITH Brown they are marching up and down the field even with a very challenged rookie QB. McCoy is a top 5 RB talent, no doubt. So is Brown. His size/speed combo makes him one of the top RB's in the NFL immediately. There is nothing flukey about his performance. I'm very sorry about the hurricane for folks like you! I thought Obama had fixed everything with his magical helicopter tour. You have been cheated out of seeing the emergence of a monster RB.

The pro play is picking up whatever defense is playing against Philly each week and counting on the 2-15 points off of Brown's mistakes (and Foles, and eventually Vick), even if it'll probably cost you in points against. :)

I believe he moved out of Phase 1. There was a report on CBS Sportline previously that said he moved out of Phase 1 and is in Phase 2. The report also said he is nearly symptom free except for fatigue.

As expected, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was officially ruled inactive for Sunday night's contest against the Cowboys in Week 13 as he continues to recover from a concussion he sustained in Week 11. McCoy was unable to practice throughout the past week as he reportedly remains in Stage 1 of his recovery program. Team trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters earlier in the week that McCoy's concussion symptoms are "down to almost nothing."

:goodposting: I probably would have had him on my bench otherwise. Good stuff here.

I'll tell you what - if Foles continues to play like he did last night then Brown's value is even higher. Guy runs hard. I don't have him, so hoping McCoy comes back to have somewhat of a timeshare.

With those stat lines, ill take a fumble.
Sure, but the Eagles may not. While he certainly helped them be competitive in that game last night, one might say he cost them the game. And the game against the Panthers.

Honestly they would probably rather take a loss in which their young players showed well anyway...better draft position in a lost season. It sounded like Reid wasn't too broken up about losing the game at this point, so hopefully brown gets a chance to work it out on the field.

Any guesses what he'll be working on in practice this week?
