Players you won't touch even min bid/last round (2008) (1 Viewer)

Every now and then I run into guys that I've had such a string of bad experiences with I eventually get to the point of refusing to have that guy on my team, now matter how cheap he may be.

Right now, that guy for me is Rocco Baldelli. He's darkened my roster with his bright promise followed up by pathetic nagging injuries for several years now. I dumped his ### and salary on some competing owner while I was having my fire sale last year, and I promised myself he'd never be back. Lo and behold 2008 spring training comes around, and he's still having hamstring problems. What - a - loser.

Mr. Baldelli, I say good day to you sir. Good Day!

I'd say the same about Bartolo "Boogie Bear" Colon, who I've had an even longer and more extensive history of disappointment with, but he might be worth a min bid, or a reserve list spot just because he's a Red Sox and could contribute a few solid innings at some point.

You guys have anyone like that who's caused you to get a nice irrational hate on for them?

Jason Schmidt. The guy went pretty highly last year and came out tossing in the 80's and getting knocked all over the park. This offseason I've seen people taking a flyer on him to stash on the bench until May or so when he comes off the DL. Sure, plenty of guys have had surgery and come back throwing harder, but I will not be fooled by him. Schmidt is absolutely DONE in the big leagues. They may run him out a few times for 3 inning starts around mid-July just out of principle, but I will be surprised if he gets even a single win this season.

 If there was ever proof that Secret Agent Coletti was still under the employ of the Giants, it's the contract he gave Schmidt. Anybody who was forced to watch the second half of Schmidt's last season in SF knew then it was time to stick a fork in him.
