Players you're having the most trouble ranking: (1 Viewer)

I'm just finishing up my own rankings and a few players are driving me nuts in terms of where to rank them. Alge Crumpler is one example. I can't decide whether or not he is overvalued by most due to name recognition, or undervalued because of his talent and Fisher's past reliance on the T.E. position (right your own T.E. joke). Which player is giving you the most grief?

Jerry Porter. He has all the physical gifts you look for in a WR. He's finally on a good team with a good QB. I'm just not sure where exactly to tier him.

the 06 QBs ... Young, Leinart, Cutler

notsomuch Cutler as much as the other two - just basically because don't know much about his diabetes and Marshall's injury and how that may stunt growth

Michael Turner - I keep flip-flopping on him. I think he can get anywhere from 225-300 carries, 15-40 catches, and 5-12 total TD's. And on top of that, some days I project him at 3.5ypc and others at 5.0ypc. So, basically, in a PPR format, here are his highs and lows:

Ceiling - 300 carries @ 5.0ypc, 40 catches @ 10.0ypc, 12 TD's = 302 fantasy points

Floor - 225 carries @ 3.5ypc, 15 catches @ 6.0ypc, 5 TD's = 132.75 fantasy points

Those numbers put him anywhere from a solid RB1 to a a mediocre RB3.

I own Cutler in one league and the diabetes does not concern me in the least. Better a player who is aware of this condition and can monitor his blood sugar level rather than playing unaware of it (as he did last season).

QB: Vince Young, he seems like he has all the potential in the world but he looked terrible last year. 9 TD's all year. That's 3 good games for many QB's.

RB: Rudi Johnson, I really want to think it was the hamstring. Rudi could be a solid RB2 or he could go Alexander on us, neither would surprise me.

WR: Terrell Owens, 34 years old, when will the decline hit? He looked as good as ever last season.

TE: Vernon Davis, how does he fit a Martz offense? It's looking more and more like he was a workout warrior but he's still as athletically gifted as any TE in the league.

he was a workout warrior, but he also had a pretty darn good last year in college. If i remember correctly, his first ever game in the NFL (may also have been his first career catch) was a long TD.

Jerry Porter was one of the first that came to mind.

Some others:

1. Javon Walker -- Epitome of a true boom or bust pick. The talent is definitely there. The health and situation are also definitely worries.

2. Michael Turner -- Self-explanatory

3. Maroney -- Again, pretty self-explanatory. Will he be used enough?

4. S. Rice -- I know he's all the rave and I do like him, but there's a lot to be wary of as well.

5. Willie Parker -- I don't know if I've ever seen a successful RB tumble so far so quickly. I don't know if I wanna buy low or completely avoid yet.

Mark Bulger - No Bruce and last year scares me, but I want to rank him higher than 14th which is where I have him now.

MJD - Consistent TD production his first two years, but if those numbers drop down to a normal amount for a guy with this amount of carries ...

Matt Forte - I didn't think he was that good before the draft but he steps into a possibly nice situation

Kevin Smith - See above

Moss/Wayne/Owens - Not their WR rankings of 1-2-3 but where to take them in comparison to the rb's.

Todd Heap/ Jeremy Shockey - covered in another thread

Roddy White - Did a lot with crappy qb play last year but is it realistic to expect a repeat?

Add the Houston RB situation. They always seem to run the ball well and are pretty cheap. Question is when to pull the trigger.

Maroney

Brandon Jacobs

MJD

Earnest Graham

Andre Johnson

Steve Smith

Housh and Ocho

Anquan Boldin

Santonio

DA

Bulger

McNabb

These guys are all giving me headaches. Will maroney/MJD get full-time status or RBBC? Will Andre Johnson/Bulger/McNabb/Jacobs/Boldin get injured? Will Delhomme be healthy enough to make Steve Smith a stud again? Will Sweed take away red zone chances for Santonio and buffer his 3rd year breakout? Is DA the real deal or is he just biding time until Quinn gets thrown into the mix? Will Housh and Ocho be ####### or studs this season?

Javon Walker - injury? talent? QB?

Ted Ginn - talent, QB?

LenDale White / Chris Henry / Chris Johnson - I never liked White, but he did fairly well statistically last year, Fisher likes the power run game, how does Henry and Johnson affect him, does Henry take over as I think is possible, or is he just another workout warrior who will never perform up to the draft slot?

Ben / Holmes / Parker / Mendenhall - I just don't know what to expect in Pittsburgh this year. Ben could be among the elite, or the FWP/Mendenhall running attack could be the emphasis.

Anyone in Tennesees offense. Graham rb TB, think a lot of you are going to be dissapointed. Bush as always. Top 3 rookie RB. (way overhyped AS USUAL)

One really got me puzzeled is Marvin Harrison. He's always been top 5 when he plays! WILL HE PLAY?

this just off top my head.

Off the top of my head, here are some players I am having difficulties with ranking:

QB's

D. Anderson -- Tougher schedule for Cleveland this year and he goes into this season as the starter. How will he handle the expectations and, if things start slow for him, will he press a bit with Brady Quinn itching to get a chance?

Delhomme -- Will he be able to bounce back from his injury and be effective? Intriguing pick this year since the team added a bunch of weapons on offense during the off-season. Will the team's apparent efforts to use a power running attack limit his numbers?

Rodgers -- Unlike many other first round QB picks in the past decade, he has actually had the opportunity to develop without being thrown right onto the field. Is he ready? I thought he looked solid v. Dallas but the team's decision to pick Brohm sends up a red flag.

Alex Smith -- May not even be the starter this year but is he is, he may thrive under Martz's system as Warner, and Bulger (and to a lesser extent Kitna) have.

RB's

Grant -- Can he put up decent numbers for an entire year without Favre at the helm?

Earnest Graham -- Career backup, missed mini-camps due to contract dispute. Will he hold out and, even if he doesn't, will his touches be the same as last year with the signing of Warrick Dunn?

J. Jones -- Will get more touches in Seattle this season so his value appears to be higher than last year, but will he do anything with the extra touches and can he stay healthy if given an increased workload? It still doesn't look like he will get goal line carries with Duckett vulturing short yardage carries.

Turner -- No questions about his physical talent, but he didn't land in a great spot. Will get a lot of touches, but most likely will play a majority of the season behind a rookie QB so teams will be able to stack the box. Team may get down early which will cause them to abandon the running game thereby limited Turner's touches.

Den RB's -- Henry and Young will split carries so it is tough to say who should be ranked highest. Henry will get goal line looks most likely but he is already had nagging injuries in mini camp. Both are injury risks and Henry is still a step away from being suspended. Add Torain into the mix and the backfield could be a three headed monster during the season. No telling who will emerge.

WR's

Andre Johnson -- When he was able to play last year, he was lights out. No questioning his physical talent, but he already has knee scoped and I just don't know if I can rank him top 5 as some have.

Welker -- Huge numbers last year just don't know if he will be able to match, and, if not, I am still trying to assess how much the drop off is going to be.

Jennings -- Like Grant, I just don't know how he will perform with Favre retired.

Roy Williams -- Lions are moving away from Martz's scheme and going to a power running game. Means less receptions for Roy. How much though? Also, does Drew Stanton get on the field at some later this year (most notably when teams are making their push for the playoffs and need Roy to put up good numbers).

TE's

Cooley -- Saunders is gone. I just have a sense his numbers take a hit especially with the other weapons they acquired this offseason. Still don't know how far I drop him though. Odds are he is picked before I try to get him anyway since others will have him ranked higher than I.

V. Davis -- Still trying to figure out how he will be utilized in Martz's system. TE's haven't been historically used by him but he has also never had a TE of Davis' talent level on his other teams.
