Playoff cheatsheets (1 Viewer)

Double D

Footballguy
Will FFG's be coming out with cheetsheets for the playoffs? If not does anyone know where we can get them. Our fantasy league is over, so now we are having a ffl for the playoffs. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Here's how I see the QB's being ranked. RB's and WR's are much more difficult to rank. I'll take a crack at it tommorow.

1. Tom Brady

2. Tony Romo

3. Peyton Manning

4, Brett Farve

5. Phillip Rivers

6. Ben Rothliesberger

7. Matt Hasselbeck

8. Eli Manning

9. David Garrard

10. Jeff Garcia

11. Jason Campbell

12. Vince Young

Campbell won't sniff the field again this year unless Collins gets hurt.

David/Joe/Doug - any idea when on Wednesday the FBG cheatsheet will be coming out? I have a draft Wednesday night, and it would be helpful to know if it will be out in time or if I'll have to go without it.

Thanks in advance!

The names that carried you all season are the same ones at the top here. The top teams all have explosive offenses and the potential to play multiple games, racking up touchdowns. One wild card is Brett Favre. His first game will be at home — how willing are you to gamble on winter weather in Green Bay?

1. Tom Brady, N.E.

2. Peyton Manning, Ind.

3. Tony Romo, Dal.

4. Matt Hasselbeck, Sea.

5. Brett Favre, G.B.

6. Ben Roethlisberger, Pit.

7. Philip Rivers, S.D.

8. David Garrard, Jac.

9. Eli Manning, N.Y.-G

10. Jeff Garcia, T.B.

11. Todd Collins, Was.

12. Vince Young, Ten.

Running backs

Just like he was this season, LaDainian Tomlinson will be the No. 1 back. And he is the only elite postseason pick at the position. A few others from the top teams should compile good numbers simply by playing multiple games. But for several other backs, it all comes down to winning a game.

1. LaDainian Tomlinson, S.D.

2. Joseph Addai, Ind.

3. Marion Barber III, Dal.

4. Laurence Maroney, N.E.

5. Ryan Grant, G.B.

6. Fred Taylor, Jac.

7. Earnest Graham, T.B.

8. Brandon Jacobs, N.Y.-G

9. Clinton Portis, Was.

10. Najeh Davenport, Pit.

11. Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac.

12. LenDale White, Ten.

13. Shaun Alexander, Sea.

14. Julius Jones, Dal.

15. Kevin Faulk, N.E.

16. Kenton Keith, Ind.

17. Maurice Morris, Sea.

18. Heath Evans, N.E.

19. Michael Turner, S.D.

20. Ladell Betts, Was.

21. Chris Brown, Ten.

22. Reuben Droughns, N.Y.-G

23. Michael Pittman, T.B.

24. Gary Russell, Pit.

25. Chris Henry, Ten.

26. Greg Jones, Jac.

Wide receivers

You know the obvious names at the top; they are the same players who dominated all season. Try to grab one, then hope to capitalize on one of your second or third receivers coming through. The more secondary receivers you draft from the top teams, the more you will increase your odds of emerging with an unexpected big game.

1. Randy Moss, N.E.

2. Terrell Owens, Dal.

3. Reggie Wayne, Ind.

4. Greg Jennings, G.B.

5. Wes Welker, N.E.

6. Plaxico Burress, N.Y.-G

7. Joey Galloway, T.B.

8. Anthony Gonzalez, Ind.

9. Deion Branch, Sea.

10. Santana Moss, Was.

11. Hines Ward, Pit.

12. Reggie Williams, Jac.

13. Bobby Engram, Sea.

14. Donald Driver, G.B.

15. Patrick Crayton, Dal.

16. Santonio Holmes, Pit.

17. Chris Chambers, S.D.

18. Jabar Gaffney, N.E.

19. Nate Burleson, Sea.

20. Donte' Stallworth, N.E.

21. D.J. Hackett, Sea.

22. Marvin Harrison, Ind.

23. Justin Gage, Ten.

24. Antwaan Randle El, Was.

25. Roydell Williams, Ten.

26. Dennis Northcutt, Jac.

27. Terry Glenn, Dal.

28. Vincent Jackson, S.D.

29. Amani Toomer, N.Y.-G

30. Ike Hilliard, T.B.

31. James Jones, G.B.

32. Ernest Wilford, Jac.

33. Nate Washington, Pit.

34. Michael Clayton, T.B.

35. Steve Smith, N.Y.-G

Tight ends

Depth is the major problem. Any one of the top four could wind up as the most valuable. If you don't get one, though, you're grabbing whomever you can and hoping he snags a touchdown or two.

1. Jason Witten, Dal.

2. Dallas Clark, Ind.

3. Antonio Gates, S.D.

4. Chris Cooley, Was.

5. Donald Lee, G.B.

6. Ben Watson, N.E.

7. Ben Utecht, Ind.

8. Heath Miller, Pit.

9. Bubba Franks, G.B.

10. Marcus Pollard, Sea.

11. Kevin Boss, N.Y.-G

12. Bo Scaife, Ten.

13. Anthony Becht, T.B.

14. Kyle Brady, N.E.

15. Jerramy Stevens, T.B.

16. Marcedes Lewis, Jac.

Kickers

Put Stephen Gostkowski as the clear top pick because he is the most likely to kick in three games — and the Patriots will score plenty. Weather could be decisive, giving Nate Kaeding extra value. Even if he plays only two games, one is in San Diego and the second would be indoors.

1. Stephen Gostkowski, N.E.

2. Nick Folk, Dal.

3. Nate Kaeding, S.D.

4. Adam Vinatieri, Ind.

5. Mason Crosby, G.B.

6. Josh Brown, Sea.

7. Rob Bironas, Ten.

8. Josh Scobee, Jac.

9. Jeff Reed, Pit.

10. Matt Bryant, T.B.

11. Shaun Suisham, Was.

12. Lawrence Tynes, N.Y.-G

Defenses

No reason to go with anybody other than the Patriots at this position either, as they should have the most chances to make defensive plays if they get the presumed three games. After that, you could try the Chargers and hope they come up with one huge game at home, where they are playing very well. Otherwise, there are no obvious picks.

1. New England

2. San Diego

3. Indianapolis

4. Dallas

5. Green Bay

6. Seattle

7. Tampa Bay

8. Jacksonville

9. Pittsburgh

10. New York Giants

11. Washington

12. Tennessee

These are rankings I came up with using a formula I thought would be beneficial for a playoff league format.

However, the rules of this league are likely different than yours so change the rankings around accordingly. 6pts all TDs, 1PPR, 1pt per 10 yds rush/rec, 1 pt per 20 yds passing, FGs 3pts, xp 1pt.

Sacks, int, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries = 2pts

safety =4pts

Anyway, I came up with the numbers by figuring each players points per touch during the regular season. Then I figured out their average amounts of touches per game (this was a little more in depth as many players such as Grant and Graham weren't starters the whole season and others had injuries). I multiplied those totals and then multiplied them again by the expected number of games each team is supposed to play. I didn't figure out which teams will win in the playoffs (good luck with that!) but instead used the calculated values posted by one of the FBG staff: New England 2.54 games, Dallas 2.25 games, Green Bay 2.19 games...if you recognize this you know what I'm talking about I may update this in a bit with a link to that thread if I can find it.

I then calculated VBD#'s using the number of positions available in the leagues draft. However, instead of subtracting the players points from the 12th QB (for instance), I averaged the 11th and 12th QB so that the 12th player would get a negative value. This way, the final players at each position would not all have 0, but have a value that would allow them to be ranked. I think the results were pretty interesting and I used my sheet right down the line for the most part in my draft last night and ended up with this team:

Redskins QB

Titans QB

Grant

Davenport

White

Pittman

Moss

TO

Harrison

Burress

Gates

H. Miller

Green Bay Kicker

Pittsburgh Kicker

San Diego D/ST

New York Giants D/ST

During the draft, I found it interesting to see how other people were drafting which allowed me to get some very good players. However, I underestimated the importance of getting a QB because of the players left on my board so ended up with QB being a very weak spot on my team. Prepare for this as the same thing happens at kicker and defensive positions but QB is a way more important position points wise. I doubt this team I drafted wins, but it will probably finish in the money (payout 4 places).

Also, I bumped Harrison up my list at the draft because I though he was way too low. Him and Manning have a solid connection and if he's playing will likely be a top 10 WR in the playoffs.

Good Luck and I hope this helps out a bit. If you would like the excel files I used send a PM with your email.
