Please name the running backs that have finished (1 Viewer)

Hint: Not many.

I was starting to look at which running backs performed consistently year in and year out. I wanted to see which ones finished close to the same ranking each year. That list, which I will soon post is not very surprising. The good running backs... the ones close to the top have a lower variance typically than the ones ranked toward the bottom.

But what was interesting was how difficult it is to finish in the top 30 RB's for 6 straight year.

So I'll start taking guesses now.

edgerrin james? (trying to remember if the knee injury(ies) kept him out a whole season)

Tiki Barber.Six years is a long time for a RB. Then to limit it to six straight years, I don't find it all that surprising that the list isn't very long.

Yes.Only 3.

Tiki, Dunn, and CuMart.

You might not find it surprising that the list is short. Do you find it surprising that these 3 guys were often under valued? 2 of the 3 were some of the "smallest" backs in the league?

Should we play: which backs have made it in 5 of the 6 years or do you want to look at which backs have the least variability in their rankings in the 2000's with a minimum of 4 years in the top 30.

Martin, Dunn, and Barber.

Guys with 5 of 6: AGreen, Dillion, James, Lewis, LT, Faulk, RWilliams, Alexander, SDavis

6 years at the top is alot for a RB. They're all due for a drop off. :halfkidding:

Tiki was definitely undervalued every year the last six years.Dunn, I'm not so sure about. He never finished higher than 12th and my guess is he was usually drafted as a solid RB2 most years. Do you have his ADP since 2000?

Martin never seemed like a guy that was undervalued. He was probably drafted as RB1 in both 2002 and 2003 and finished 18th both years. He's definitely had some great years that out performed his draft slot, but I don't think that was a regular occurrence. Plus, he only makes this list because he squeeked in at 29 in 2005, just ahead of Gado, Kevin Jones, Priest, and Fred Taylor who all missed at least three games. ETA: Oops, Martin missed time too. I forgot about that.

Just missing the list is Edge who finished 32 one year when he only played six games.

Ok - Let's play which RB's have the least variability in their rankings year in and year out. Minimum of 3 years in the top 30. And only taking their years in the top 30 into consideration... (eliminating Dillon and Edge etc's injury years).

1 - 10?

Tomlinson seems to be third every year.

After LT I would say Alexander with five straight years in the top 6. Portis had a slight blip when he just missed the top 10 after changing teams, but he has been 4-11 in the last four years.

Alexander has been solid for at least 3 years.

Well... you've knocked out the top three.1. Portis (avg ranking 7)

3. Alexander (avg ranking 4.4)

What are you using here? Tomlinson has never finished better than 3 but has an average better than 3?
