They usually do more than one show a week once August rolls around. There is a lot more to talk about once all the camps start up and we start seeing some preseason games.

Work great on my iphone right through the Football guys app.
you know what would be great? If the app automatically played from where a user left off. I love the content and don't even mind the constant pitches for FBG (I subscribe!), but the app needs to remember where the listen stopped, picks up from where I left off, and keeps play all the new ones until I'm donethanks!

The BFD fantasy football podcast is pretty solid as well. I love the audible, but like to get more than one viewpoint and I've been listening to both.

I am a big fan of podcasts in general and really like the lexycasts. Now get back to podcasting Cecil.

While The Audible is far and away the best podcast out there, I have a 45 minute commute each way and therefore need more than 2-3 hours a week of FFL podcasts. I listen to Fantasyguru.com, FFToolbox (In the Loop), CBSSports Fantasy Football Podcast, and The Fantasy Football Guys Podcast. Like I said, none of them touch what The Audible does for me. But differing perspectives isn't a bad thing.

Audible is far and away the best, because it is evident they actually watch football and know what they are seeing. Bloom and Cecil have been talking about guys like bradshaw and knox for two months now and the rest of the world is just beginning to catch up. They were talking about how good a talent miles austin was before last season when most people hadn't even heard of him. The Fantasy Football Guys is probably the worst thing I have ever heard. Fantasy Focus Football is a distant second.

I listen to podcasts all the time and have to say that the deciding factor for me when I have limited time to decide which one to listen to (there are many options as we all know) is fluff. The one without fluff is the one I will listen to because, unfortunately, I don't have time. Generally we don't care about the filler crap that sells on FM or AM. We want a fire hose of information. If I'm on the stair climber at the gym give me 45 minutes of INFO. If I have 10 minutes in bed before my wife wants to snuggle give me INFO. No sound bites. No funny crap. No filler.
The best at this IMO is CBS Sportsline. They just cut to the chase. I can't ask for more. Is their content better than any other? No. But do I get straight info without having to listen to a bunch of crap? Absolutely. Next is ESPN. Similar in terms of information delivery but Mr. Roto needs a spine...and solid predictions (but I digress).
I highly value Cecil and Sigmond but guys please cut the fluff and the non-football segues. A two hour show can easily be one hour and half. If we could get the Fantasy Buzz for one hour straight that would be the ultimate. Question...answer. Question...answer. Question...answer. Boom. Boom. Boom.

I disagree. There is no way they spend 30 mins discussing non football issues. A few jokes here or there, but they are pretty much always talking football.

I do a podcast with a friend of mine. This is the third year we've been doing it now. It's called NFL Double Coverage and you can find it at nfldoublecoverage.podbean.com. We're getting it started up again after the offseason.
We keep it light and informative at the same time. I highly encourage you to listen to it. You'll like it.

easy Thule, do you go about everything in life like this? Not only are you exaggerating, you're just wrong. Cecil does the FPC plug, they may have a quick anecdote, a few jokes, and a few sound clips....but not 25% fluff.... unpucker already!I don't know and don't care what your angle is, but it's not going unchecked.

ESPN's is exactly the opposite. It's 90% the know-it-alls busting each other's chops about mostly anything other than Football. I listened a couple times last year, but couldn't take more than a few mins of the drudgery. Nothing but fluff. Gave it another shot this year, hoping things had improved, but still ugly. Bloom does need to practice his catching on to Cecil's comedic lead-ins though. Last year it was Lammey's soundclip lead in and Bloom was right there with the right response. This year, seems like there's a second or two's dead air between the two. Sounds like he's trying to figure out what the hell Cecil's alluding to with the set-up.Just an observation...By the way, any word on whether or not the "Five Minute Drill" will be back?

Totally agree on the ESPN podcast. I try to listen to it so I can hear what other owners in my league are listening to.... but "man alive" (quote from Cecil) they are brutal to listen to. Very little information, a lot of sound clips and ripping on each other.I've tried the CBS one, and it's pretty good. I almost think one of the guys on there listens to the Audible (can't remember his name).

Good topic .. I'm going to check out some of these Podcasts over the next couple of days.
One more quick question, is MJD's show on XM available as a podcast anywhere? I have XM but have not listened to it yet.

Feedback is the key to constantly improving, so I appreciate everyone's thoughts on the subject here.
Simsarge, 5 Minute Drill has been mothballed until further notice...still watch a couple of old episodes on Youtube
There is a fine line between too much banter/jokes and it's one that I watch very closely. The main feedback that I get is 'love the show because you guys get straight to football' and that's one I really take to heart. I know everyone's time is precious, and Bloom and I really do appreciate you guys for checking out the show. I may crack on my old 6-man days, or throw in some obscure comedic reference to shake things up but I know we can't go overboard with that stuff.
On the shows from The Ticket I do have to do alot of recap, phone number resets, etc because it's terrestrial radio. That's a much different animal than podcasting. I appreciate everyone for feedback on 'Ridin Shotgun' and 'Game Time Decision'
