And I think it is a shame that Floyd pulled a hamstring and this could not play out naturally.
Unfortunately, that kinda is playing it out naturally where Floyd is concerned. And I think it is a shame that Floyd pulled a hamstring and this could not play out naturally.
I doubt it. Anybody that either held onto him or grabbed him recently did so with the expectations that he'd be a major contributor come playoff time. The Floyd injury only increases his value. This is pretty interesting for FF purposes. He can probably be had fairly cheap right now and I suspect Vince Jackson is a top 20 FF WR for the playoffs (weeks 14-16). The Chargers will need him and he needs to play well to justify big money next year.
I don't see all of the Chargers games but my impression is that while Floyd and Jackson may share similar size and speed, Vincent Jackson is much more physically imposing. He is a legit #1 WR in the NFL, I don't see that in Floyd.
We're talking about six weeks before he can play in a game and even then his role has not yet been defined. Again I like his upside in weeks 14-16 but he's worth .50/.60 on the dollar right now. Obviously with each passing week that changes.I doubt it. Anybody that either held onto him or grabbed him recently did so with the expectations that he'd be a major contributor come playoff time. Sidney Rice can be had cheaper and has the same potential to be a contributor down the stretch. Maybe a bit more of a gamble because of the injury, but I like what a healthy Sidney Rice could do opposite Randy Moss. We're talking about six weeks before he can play in a game and even then his role has not yet been defined. I understand where you're coming from but it just depends on the individual situation. Maybe if I needed the roster spot he is worth .50 on the dollar but if I'm already comfortable at the position he is much more valuable. After week 2 I was pretty solid at receiver and dealt Knox for him and have been lucky enough to not need the roster spot so there is no way he'll be sold cheap by me. Now as I get closer to our week 10 trade deadline I might unload him if I have a good offer. Since he'll only be a week away it might be good to get close to top value without assuming any risk that he'll flop on purpose. We're talking about six weeks before he can play in a game and even then his role has not yet been defined. I think this injury to Floyd and the fact that he is not practicing while VJax is now with the team and can infact practice over the next 3 weeks, certainly gives VJax the edge. Also I would expect Floyd to perhaps even split reps with Crayton as he is coming off injury and they would want to limit the chance that he aggravates the injury. If this poll were taken today, would the results be different?Much more heavily pro-VJax?Anybody letting Floyd go at this point? I see his ownership numbers are still high, at least in my CBS leagues. I just wonder why, given that his hamstring might keep him out to Week 12, there's a bye week in there, Crayton's picked up some decent slack, and VJax comes back Week 12.

Vjax will pull a hammy in week 12 and sit out the rest of the season, to not cause further injury to himselfIf this poll were taken today, would the results be different?Much more heavily pro-VJax?Anybody letting Floyd go at this point? This would be a stupid move for a player that wants a big contract to develop a history of injury. This serves no purpose whatsoever IMO.Vjax will pull a hammy in week 12 and sit out the rest of the season, to not cause further injury to himselfIf this poll were taken today, would the results be different?Much more heavily pro-VJax?Anybody letting Floyd go at this point? I was going to re-run the poll in a new thread, but felt that it was moot since Floyd pulled his hamstring. Watching the game and VJax has a strained calf from the first quarter. No catches on the day and he is done.Guy sits out over a contract, misses practices leading up to the season and then when he finally signs and suits up, he immediately gets injured likely due to missing so much time.Revis situation? Is anyone paying attention to the Revis situation?Vincent hasnt lost his starting position. There is a reason he was there in the first place and he has kept himself in football shape and will get 3 weeks of practice with his team to take back that position before the first game in week 12.
