Portis Owners (1 Viewer)

Portis is currently listed as Questionable, meaning he is officially 50/50 for monday night. I own Portis in all 3 of my leagues and intend, at this point, to bench him in favor of Fred Taylor in 2 leagues and Mike Bell in the other. I specifically targeted Portis in all leagues as he is a steal IMO and will still produce Top 10 RB by season's end. I therefore went RB heavy for just this week 1 scenario, and did NOT grab Duckett or Betts.

If there is good news between now and Monday I would consider inserting him into the line-up, but it is still rather risky IMO for this week.

Other Portis owners - what are your other options and what is your drop dead decision date on whether you are starting Portis or not. Is practicing on Friday good enough (if he does), or do you need to hear "Clinton is good to go" out of Gibbs mouth and see him upgraded to "Probable?"

If he starts for the Redskins, he starts for me. My decision will have to be made by 1:00 Sunday. I think we'll know by tomorrow evening, based on his practices today and tomorrow.

I just don't think the Redskins will start him if he's not ready to go. If he gets the start, I think he'll get at least 15 touches and probably more. My prediction is that he can near 100 yards and 1 TD on 15 touches in this offense.

We can only have 4 RBs on our roster, and we must start 2 every week.

I have Edge, Portis, Dunn, and Lundy

The Edge is the no-brainer start --- I'd like to sit Portis this week until I've seen him play.

I'd love to start Dunn without hesitation, but he has a very tough matchup against Carolina in Week 1. Lundy just might get the start for me in Week 1. Whodathunkit.

For me it's either Willie Parker or Portis, so I gotta play it safe and get what I can from Willie tonight. I suppose I could still bench Caddy for Portis.

I have to decide by tonight and it's either Portis or one of the Bells. I'll probably play one of the Bells to be safe.

I have Betts as a back-up and like you even have Fragile Freddie waiting in the wings ready to go ... but I don't like Freddie against that Dallas D

I passed on Alexander @ 1.03 for Portis .. hated to see him go down but have little doubt that he'll be good to go ... this guy is a WARRIOR .... not the whimp everyone's making him out to be!

:boxing:

I drafted Portis at 1.06 the week after he got hurt with the intention of not starting him the first 2-3 weeks. I figure if he plays it is a bonus, but I drafted RB depth accordingly and even handcuffed with Betts, but this week I will be starting Dillon, Foster and TJ.

B. Nugget

I will probably bench him for Parker or Foster (have Thomlinson to start for sure). Just don't want to risk it, plus, the Minnesota LB's aren't that bad.

I think we'll all know a lot more after practices today and tomorrow. I'm planning on starting Portis and FWP.

At the moment, I have him on the pine in favor of Foster. Since I don't have Betts or Duckett, and it's a Monday night game, I'd be risking a zero if I put him in the lineup and he doesn't play.

 What's your thinking there??I'm deciding between Ahman and Portis. I'm just hoping for a definitive answer by Sunday, and as someone said up top, the next two days of 'Skins practice should give ua a pretty good idea whether he plays or not. Be patient, we have a few days to go...

Bench.

I'm starting Westbrook and Foster.

If the reason Portis is starting is because no matter what happens, (sitting vs playing) he's not going to get any healthier due to his specific injury. Then I think we Portis owners are in for a rough road. :worried:

GO WITH AHMAN GREEN

I'm probably one of the more fortunate, with respect to the "timing" of things.

I'm currently benching Portis for McCardell (flex) and since they both start Monday night I can switch those spots on Monday if Portis is a go.

sorry for those of you that have to decide today or Sunday.

hmm, I could actually bench Mike Bell and do this exact same thing. I just will :wall: if Bell has a good game and Portis doesnt play. I dont expect too too much from old Keenan this season really.Or do the same with Troy Williamson . . . double hmmmm.

Off the subject.Rush Rules bro. :D

I have him on the bench right now in favor of Ahman Green. My decision will pretty much have to be made before CHI-GB kicks off. It's either A. Green or Ladell Betts if Portis doesn't go.

I think I'll be starting Thomas Jones over Portis this week; even thought about starting Bush over Jones.

Looking at how Oak did vs SD last year though...maybe I'll start Bush over Jordan

Some of us did draft before the injury ya know ! :hey:

I have Droughns Portis, Fred Taylor, Foster, Duckett where up to 3 can start one being the flex. I'll take my chances on Droughns, Taylor, and Foster than Portis or any of my backup receivers Antonio Bryant, and Jennings. Bryant is a consideration against ARIZ but I feel more comfortable with my RB's
