If you had a draft since Portis' injury, please post where he was drafted. I would like to get an idea of his revised ADP since his injury.

This Tuesday night I was in a start 2 QB - 10 team redraft and he fell to 9th overall (LJ, SA, LT, Edge, Tiki, SJax, RBrown, P.Manning, then Portis). Not much news on his status at that time. Not sure where he is going now.

Per Ansports for drafts b/t 8/16 and now (serious mocks only, no flex positions):

12 teams - going between 1.4 and 1.9 in six drafts, avg of 1.6.5

10 teams - going between 1.4 and 1.7 in three drafts, avg of 1.6

Per Ansports for drafts b/t 8/16 and now (serious mocks only, no flex positions):12 teams - going between 1.4 and 1.9 in six drafts, avg of 1.6.510 teams - going between 1.4 and 1.7 in three drafts, avg of 1.6
This brings up a question I've had for a while. I know they pull their ADP from a few different sources, but over what time period does FBG's ADP reflect? Is it the last month, week, day? Anybody know?

Question: What does the ".5" part of "1.6.5" mean on the Antsp ADP? Thanks.

I draft tomorrow and I'm in the 4 spot. I was all set to take Portis a week ago. Since the injury I have flip-flopped between Barber and Portis.

Right now I'm 60/40 in Barber's favor, but that may change.

I have spoken with the owner in the 5 spot and he said he would take whoever I didn't.

Hope that helps.

I'm surprised to see how high CP is in everyone's eyes here still, considering his drop in some rankings I've see to the bottom of the top 10.

I've got #6 on Sunday, and plan to take him.

Drafting Sunday, I will still take him at 1.4 if he is there.
IF he's there? Really?I'm sitting at the 1.6 spot and will take him if he's there.
Yeah IF - I know the guys in my league, and I wouldn't be surprised if CP and TB go before LJ

Drafted last night....I picked him at 1.7
Where'd you take Betts?
I drafted him at 1.7 and I didnt take Betts, the injury is minor.
Minor? A trainer said lastnight that 90% of the players that suffer from this shoulder injury needs surgery. The Muscle does not shrink back after it was streached. It is more likely to happen again and will be painfull all season. Minor? NO
But did the trainer sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night?

What effect will this have on Portis' dynasty/keeper prospects? I wonder if this group suspects he will have shoulder issues that could keep him out of 2-4 games per year for the next few years.

Hmmm..., who do I believe, a trainer? Or the Doctor? Dr Andrews said sugery wouldn't be necesary. Was the trainer even Portis' trainer?

No. If its bad he could have surgery after the season. Longterm its not that big of a deal.IMO

Dodds says to forget about Portis in his Perfect Draft article unless you can somehow pick him up in the 2nd round. I'm inclined to agree with this.

If Portis falls low enough to consider taking him it is imperative to draft Betts a round before his adp. You cannot take the chance on not securing the handcuff.

Fantasy football championships are not won in the first round but they can be lost. Keeping this in mind I will probably be passing on Portis until mid 2nd round.

I think CP is a great risk due to the shoulder injury. That will be his first point of contact for the rest of the season. To pick CP you must also spend a relatively early pick on Betts. 2 picks for 1 position? No thanks.

1.06 in a 10 team re-draft

Would have gone SJax, but he went @ 5.

Was still able to grab:

McGaehee (3rd)

Gore (6th - maybe a little high, but I'm developing manlove for him ;) )

T Jones (7th)

Benson (9th)

Had to choose between Benson and Betts in R9 for the cuff, but went with locking up CHI's running game. Maybe will come back to bite me in the ###, but I'm not that worried about CP.

Note: not a big $$ league, so why not.

Why would anyone draft him in the first round when he's not 100% healthy, may miss multiple games and has missed games before (2003) I don't see the logic here when drafting a player who could miss enough games that will force you to potentially dig yourself out of a deep hole. I want a 100%, no question he's healthy player when I draft in the first.

Just drafted, He lasted until 1.10 in a 12 team league.Betts still on the board round 9
Grab Betts when it comes around to you again, if you can.
That's the thing, you can't count on getting Betts unless you are willing to draft him 2 rounds early. You can't predict future rounds if you draft Portis in the first. Things to consider:1. Teams who load up on WR/QB early may target Betts early as a great RB to play early in season.2. Someone may see Betts as playing a lot more than other people think and will draft earlier than his average draft position.Reminds me of last year when I targeted LJ earlier than most IF I was able to get the guys I wanted in the first 4 rounds which I was able to then I was going to draft LJ and if he sits he will.Just saying, I don't understand why people are disregarding his injury and still drafting him high / mid / late first round. Makes zero sense.

Does anyone know offhand of any other RBs who had similar shoulder trouble and how it affected them? Any precedent of anyone having lingering effects throughout the whole season because of this, causing a major lack of production?

Just took him at 2.03 in a 12 team league. He was the 12th RB taken. I took Rudi at 1.10, and couldn't let Portis fall any farther.

I took Portis at 1.06 in the FBGs Bravo 2 league on Thursday night.....Betts went at 9.05.....right before I was all-set to pick him at 9.06. :wall:

I think Portis will be fine, but I sure wish Betts had fallen one more measly spot.

got to take him in the 7th if you draft portis.

he went 1.08 in a 14-team yahoo draft (no ppr) this morning. so he only fall slightly. ladell betts went at 10.07 -- so #142 overall.
