How many do they typically carry during the season?I would think there will be a couple, or more, WRs from NE cut
I would think the chances of him getting cut largely depend on whether they land Trent Green. I have to think the worst case would be cutting Culpepper without a trade in place, expecting Green to be a FA, but instead Green is kept and/or dealt elsewhere.Any chance Culpepper gets the axe in Miami? Or does them passing on Quinn keep him in a job?
I doubt June 1st. Most of em' don't make much til 08 and 2 of em' can probably roll on the PS still. June 1st is usually about contract $ and the Pats just don't have that prob with their WRs.I could absolutely see them moving a WR or two this summer but "June 1st cuts" makes me think of a team making a cut to free up some cap $.I like Childress. I don't think he ever plays for the Pats and hope he can latch onto some team that'll give him a shot. He really hustles and seems to give a great effort and.....hopefully some team grabs him and their depth doesn't just end his career as never having "made it" in the NFL. I'd prefer him over ALOT of pamperred WRs just because he'll keep his mouth shut and work hard. Once ya get past 3 or 4 on the depth chart I figure he can be of some value to a team out there.I would think there will be a couple, or more, WRs from NE cut
This would actually surprise me. Amani has been a good safety net for Eli - as evidenced in part by his struggles after Toomer went down. (Ok, yeah, losing Luke didn't help either). Don't forget we also lost Tim Carter. So the roster right now aside from ToomerAmani Toomer, NYG.
I would think just the opposite. I felt like we saw how invaluable he was last year.Amani Toomer, NYG.
I think Mahe is already gone but I would add Jerome McDougle, DE, to the list as highly probable.Look for either Lewis or Bloom to be cut form the Eagles, along with the movement of Moats and/orray: Mahe.
Yeah there's definitely something to what you're saying.IIRC Dillon's retirement was able to be put off like a June 1st "cap casualty" for the Patsmassraider said:I was under the impression that the June 1 date is now meaningless. They changed that rule. Teams can now cut players before June 1, and if they so desire, spread the cap hit over the next two years. Previously, you had to wait. And considering how much the cap went up, I don't see too many teams in a squeeze.
So much for waiting until 6/1....Eric Hicks just got released.KCTrent GreenEric HicksRyan Simsother possibilities are Greg Wesley, Chris Bober and Tynes
There will still be some I believe. But the change has allowed teams to release players and designate them June 1 cuts before the June 1 date. But I don't think they are forced to, so after the draft and free agency there will probably still be some June 1 cuts.massraider said:I was under the impression that the June 1 date is now meaningless. Corey Simon definitely comes to mind. Once they clear out his medical stuff and grievances.Colts- None off the top of my head. I think we lost enough due to FA to keep us in decent cap condition.
LOL..and an hour later, they trade Sims to Tampa Bay.This front office is moving fast!Kevin Ashcraft said:So much for waiting until 6/1....Eric Hicks just got released.KCTrent GreenEric HicksRyan Simsother possibilities are Greg Wesley, Chris Bober and Tynes
Agreed. Although Tomlin said they will keep all three punters going into camp. With the Steelers 4th round pick in P Dan Sepulveda, it pretty much puts the writing on the wall for P Chris Gardocki
