Post Draft Bloom 100 (1 Viewer)

I tried to hold my tongue, but I can't. :P

38 Quan Sturdivant

57 Martez Wilson

I think Sturdivant should have been drafted sooner and I think he has every-down talent. But I don't see him as more than an Andra Davis/Dan Connor next to Daryl Washington. Do you think he becomes the primary tackling option at ILB in Arizona? And I'm by no means pimping Martez Wilson. He's actually slipped further as I put together my combined board today. But I think he may deserve a little more love as an every-down OLB, at least in relation to Sturdivant.

73 Jaiquawn Jarrett

I know you hate using draft picks on rookie DBs. But if you think he has Quintin Mikell value (consistent DB2), surely he's a better relative value than some of the listed UDFA wideouts and development quarterbacks. This ranking suggests that you'd not consider him before the 7th round in a 12 team league. I actually don't think that's an unreasonable strategy, but can you flesh out the reasoning behind it for the IDP faithful.

30 Robert Quinn

77 Jabaal Sheard

This will be a spirited discussion on our draft review IDP roundtable podcast. I like the Anthony Spencer comparison, who I thought would have been a much better fit as a 4-3 DE in the mold of a Ray Edwards. Do you think Sheard is likely to flop so severely as a 4-3 end with all that opportunity in Cleveland that he's essentially undraftable?

90 Colin McCarthy

98 Casey Matthews

I'd really like to hear what Jerry Gray thinks of Rennie Curran. I think the comments about getting bigger are worrisome for Curran, but it's not clear yet. One of us will be right on McCarthy. He's either starting at MLB or ticketed for development. I think the WLB spot in Philly is about as good as it gets for Matthews. Agree that he's definitely not bumping Chaney from MLB. No chance he plays every down and cracks the top 50 overall linebackers, though?

I was never totally sold on Wilson the player, but I fully expected him to fall into a Tampa/Denver MLB type situation in the pre-draft rankings. Being drafted to play SLB just hurts and to a defensive scheme that doesn't really produce numbers at OLB to boot. I think Sturdivant/Washington can be like Foreman/Sharper and both be quality IDPs.Just a brainfart on Cleveland's scheme switch, Sheard should be higher, at least 10 spots. not undraftable, especially not sack heavy leagues.McCarthy just looked unimpressive on film to me outside of athleticism and I don't really believe in him. Matthews always looked like an oversized strong safety, i'll let someone else take the chance on him

Gotta love these debates.

The Tennessee MLB situation is intriguing to me. I have Tulloch in a couple of leagues. In one of those I also own Curran. The McCarthy pick certainly muddies the waters.

I really like Sheard to get a lot of opportunity in the new 4-3 in Cleveland. The kid has a lot of talent, but it will be a baptism by fire for him in year one in Cleveland.
