Post round 1 draft, stock up/down (1 Viewer)

Something's gotta give in Buffalo. Lots of mouths to feed now with Watkins, Woods, Williams, and Johnson.

Gotta feel like they'll send Stevie packing for a day two or three pick.

For now all of the three veterans have an arrow down. That could easily change with a trade.

Marqise Lee's stock takes a hit just by virtue of not getting the first round seal of approval.

By that reasoning, I guess you could say arrow up for Kelvin Benjamin. Someone will pull the trigger high in every rookie draft now. Don't personally think he's a good bet to pan out, but it is what it is.

Ebron found a pass happy offense where he'll eventually be the de facto WR2 as apparently he has been told he'll be used like Jimmy Graham. Arrow way up as to landing spot and future prospects.

Brandin cooks way up... I can see them using him like a playmaker (almost a Percy Harvin type role) and possibly becoming Drew's safety valve since Sproles is gone.

Reuben Randle down
Yea, I agree with this. I'm a Randle fan and I can actually see this working with Beckham as a slot/outside joker, but with all of those mouths to feed it is a lot harder to be optimistic about his chances of producing meaningful stats.

Still a buy. Just the price is reasonable now. Any Jernigan hype goes out the window.

Zac Stacy goes up. Probably not much but Robinson officially drafted it can't be anything but good for him.

Watkins- down lol Bills cold weather, ####ty QB, plenty of other WR's to steal targets. Have fun drafting him #1 guys

Evans- up He will be WR2 and get all the #2 CB. He should be highly targeted in the redzone

Cooks- up Brees and that offense + they traded up for Cooks. They are going to give him all kinds of targets

Reuben Randle down
I hate it for Randle and Odell Beckham Jr.

I was pretty high on both when I woke up Thursday morning. However can't see it working with Cruz, Randle and OBJ all needing targets for relevant stats. And all Coughlin wants to run it all game.

I don't like it for Ebron--too many mouths to feed. I see this as a Stock Down for him.

Stock Up: EJ Manuel; Watkins; Johnny Football (should get a chance to start soon and has Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron and a pretty good RB in Tate; Cooks-you have to like his situation where he can take over Moore's role; Bradford/Britt/Austin--you sort of expected a new QB and/or WR in STL; all of the marginal starting RBs (with no RB taken).

I guess a slight down arrow for Golden Tate, just by virtue of being the third most talented (or fourth if you count Bush) receiver on his own team now. I still think he could have a Lance Moore season as the forgotten man who quietly pieces together a solid year, but even with Stafford chucking it every down there are some big mouths to feed over there in Detroit. And of course Pettigrew is a total non-entity now if he wasn't already.

Philly WRs Maclin and Cooper up. Philly bypassed WR to replace DeSean.

KC also bypassed WR and may actually have meant it when they said they liked what they've seen in AJ Jenkins, so maybe up for him.

Neither team drafts high in the 2nd round so we'll see what WRs are left and what they do when they have their next chance.

Lot of bullets still to dodge at WR with the likes of Adams/Latimer/Lee/Moncrief/Robinson still out there.

5 WRs went in the first round. Wouldn't be surprised to see another 5+ in the second tomorrow. Deep group.

Jake Locker won't have to compete with a first round QB draft pick, and he gained a high quality offensive line prospect, so a small stock up for him.

As some have said, still many WR's to dodge, but Mike Evans not ending up in Detroit is a relief for us Golden Tate owners.

Stafford up. Really liking his options this year
he might be the only one whose stock is up. the rest of the Lions offense is just confusing. Lombardi hopefully learned a lot from Payton because he has to construct something cohesive from all these parts.

Watkins - down a bit cause the Bills suck as an organization, but not down all that much. I disagree with those saying there's too many mouths to feed there though, Watkins is a big step up in talent from anything else they have.

Ebron - Big up. Detroit's pass happy offense is a great spot.

Cooks - Big up. Playing on turf in that offense is pretty much as good a destination as you could have hoped for.

Benjamin - Big up. They have as close to nothing at the position as you can get. He's a good bet for 8+ TDs for the next number of years imo.

Odell Beckham - stock unchanged. Nice to be drafted so high, but Eli is pretty terrible these days.

Mike Evans - stock unchanged. Reasonably good destination.

I would think that Vincent Jackson's dynasty value took a huge hit.
You would think wrong, IMO.
I guess we will see in any future trades involving Vincent Jackson in dynasty leagues, it wouldn't be the first time I have misjudged the fantasy football landscape. It was pretty hard to trade him before the draft for decent value, can't believe a dynasty owner will be eager to acquire VJax now, except for a ridiculously low price. In redraft leagues, I have the opposite view of VJax's, I think he has the chance to put up some very decent numbers this season.

Vikings landing Bridgewater should be an upgrade for Rudolph, Jennings, Patterson, AD. That may have already been baked in because people anticipating a upgrade at QB for the Vikings, but they could have done worse than Bridgewater. I am a bit stunned he made it to the last pick of the draft.

The Vikings seem to be lucky with good players falling to them. (Moss, Peterson, Harvin) Hopefully Bridgewater follows that tradition.

I didn't mean to sound curt, I should expand.

I think people view Jackson as a short-term, win-now borderline WR1. I think after adding Evans, people will view him as a short-term, win-now borderline WR1. The main enemy his dynasty stock has is Father Time, unless Evans explodes on the scene and dominates as rookie WR's do not usually do, I think there will be plenty to go around and the impact of Jackson will be somewhere negligible given the trade off between potential target loss vs. potential easier coverage on him at times.

Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt stock up
Living in NC I get to hear Coach Logan on the radio. He coached Matt Ryan at BC. When Ryan graduated Logan said he saw Ryan's twin at Oklahoma (Bradford). He knows the RB coach with the Rams and he told Logan that all Bradford (who is still and incredible passer) needs to do is be protected in the pocket and stay healthy and he would be great. Logan also said there was no way the Rams were taking a QB in round one and they didn't.

I agree if he keeps the job, which he should. But there is the second year RB thing where they suck like Martin last year. But I think Stacy will prove that wrong.

I think Tate will be okay, you don't want CJ going across the middle and Ebron is a deep thread and most dangerous down the field. I think this clears it out of Tate. He can catch and run. I don't think he will be a stud but I think he will be more consistent and have a better year than he did in Seattle.

I understand taking a WR for TB but it seems like they took a clone of VJ. But McCown did well with that in Chicago. Giants took OBJ, which is Cruz #2, but I think they will do okay. Seems like Giants needed Evans and TB needed OBJ but it should be interesting to watch. Neither should be drafted as anything other than a 3/4 WR

Rookie year: Calvin Johnson

15 games played

48 receptions

756 yards

4 TD's

Don't look for your rookie studs to be fantasy studs their first year.

CJ year 2? okay

16 games

78 receptions

1331 yards

12 TD's

They need to learn the route trees and get on page with the QB. It takes time and trust.

Keenan Allen

15 games played

71 receptions

1,046 yards

8 TD's

Hey look, I can do it too.

Beckham may not explode in year one, but he doesn't have to in order to seriously hurt Randle's stock, which he does merely by existing on that team.

Evans and Jackson situation will be similar to Floyd/Fitzgerald. Jackson will be fine. They'll both eventually be 1A and 1B.

This was a totally unique situation. Love Allen. But the only reason he got a lot of play last year was cause all the SD WR's got hurt. I think that him playing in 15 games does not do him justice. He ended up being a #1 on an ok team that had to pass a lot. I will be impressed if he puts up those numbers this year as he has to play the NFC West.
