Jets #1? They got shutout at home to a team not even on your list. They then proceed to barely win the next 3 games by the skin of their teeth against the Lions, Browns, and Houston. #1 overall? Disagree completely.

:bowtie: If I'm a team in the playoffs, the last team I want to face right now is Philly. This is followed closely by NE, Atlanta, Pitt, and NO.

I remember a team last year that went through a streak of barely winning games. It was the Saints. Anyway, I didn't think Philly looked that scary against the injury riddled Giants the other night.

If you believe the axiom that great teams slaughter bad teams and win close games against good teams then the Jets belong closer to #10.

My list starts with these three, and this post shows why. These three teams have played brutal schedules, and still amassed wins in impressive fashions.Heck..Philly beat Atlanta soundly, then the Colts soundly, a historic game against the Skins, and then the G-men...while there was an odd road loss to Tennessee in that stretch, I don't see how anyone can justify putting them behind the Falcons at this point.

The Packers beat your #1 and #4 teams on this list...are 7-3 with that defense and they don't make the top 10?

Vick only played half of the Eagles/Packers game.

I didn't say GB should be ahead of either of them...just that they belong on the list. But when I look at the score of that game, there is no asterisk that says how much time Vick played. Can I put asterisks on the Packers game against Washington because Matthews only played half of it?

o yea without question they are definitely a top 10 team i think its crazy to think otherwise... though i think there are more flaws with the team than people are currently acknowledging, id still have them in the 6-8 range. the upcoming game against ATL at their place will definitely be a barometer game

What an awesome year for the NFL. There are multiple cases in this thread where #1 in some people's top 10 does not even make another person's top 10. WOW.

Since Halloween. Done quickly, so I don't promise 100% accuracy.

A couple things about Green Bay:

Matthews was out for 1 of their losses and missed half of their loss to WAS. If anyone watched that game you can see how different the team was when he left. Green Bay lost just one game, to Chicago with Matthews in. Their other two losses were without Matthews and went to overtime. Just food for thought

Also against the Eagles... They were winning convinvingly until Vick came in and lead a comeback. But keep in mind....McCarthy was playing ball control/run out the clock football and the Packers prepped that game as if Kolb was going to be the starter. Had Vick played the whole game and had GB prepared for him, then who knows what happens.

then you remember wrong. the only game that they won which went down to the line was the game at Washington.

Am I the only one who thinks the chargers are top 10?
Probably not, but it seems just a little early to put them there. Maybe in another week or two.....
I don't think it's early at all. In one or two weeks, they may very well be in most people's top 5 list. They have the # 1 offense and # 1 defense and they've now won 3 in a row. Their only major weakness is their special teams.

1. eagles

2. saints

3. giants

4. falcons

5. patriots

6. steelers

7. packers

8. jets

9. ravens

10. colts

id have dallas at 10 if romo were back

Uh-huh...and they are 5 - 5. To put that in perspective, TEN teams have poosted 7 or 8 wins..and that's not including the 6 win teams or other .500 clubs. The Chargers are still in third place in their own division, and have played a very soft schedule compared to many of the teams being listed ahead of them.I agree that the Chargers have played like a top 10 team (if not top 5) the last 3 weeks, but they played like a bottom ten team for most of the first 8 weeks. They absolutely, positively, do not deserve a top ten ranking right now. Add another game or two like yesterday, and THEN you could make a case. A team needs to post at least a winning record first. A few guys have them at #10....I can see that even if I disagree, but let's not pretend they're a no-brainer here.

I'd put them in my top 5 right now. I don't care what their record is. They're playing lights out. And with VJax coming back... they're a scary team.

Ok I understand that they're 5-5 but do you really believe that they're not best team in the AFC West? The team is notorious for starting the season slow and finishing strong. Statistically, their record should be better than what it is. Based on record alone, they're not top 10. Based on the perception of teams that you would least likely want to face right now, they are easily top 10 IMO.
