Ongoing slow draft, 12 team IDP PPR QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/TE/Flex

1. AJ Green

2. Mark Ingram

3. Daniel Thomas

4. Julio Jones

5. Ryan Williams

6. Mikel LeShoure

7. Greg Little

8. Shane Vereen

Only surprise so far was Thomas going above Jones. Talked to the guy who took Thomas, and it wasn't that he didn't like Jones..."Jones was never an option for me, I needs RB's" was his response. That's how you run a team into the ground, drafting for need in the top-3. In my opinion, of course. Thomas could be a star and make me look dumb. But his reasoning for the pick will always be bad, and that's more important in the long run.

I hear you. I would have taken him at 1.2. The guy from 1.3 definitely should have jumped on him. The guy at 1.4 had a bunch of young wideouts and went to K-State so...Some of the comments showed tentativeness to draft him due to the shaky QB situation (one mentioned Fitz' decline in play after Warner).

Guess the Greg Little hype has died down ? Still on the board at 1.12, I've never seen him last that long.
I think it's more the mediocre rb hype has picked up.

How does 1 guy get 11 out the first 24 picks in your rookie draft?

It looks like by having Ryanfitzpatrick and Dallas Clark as by far and away his best veterans. I don't envy him at all. I had 9 of the first 12 picks in the wells/crabtree draft including the top 3 but at least had romo,Roddy and quite a few others better than ryanfitz.

Some additional thoughts regarding your (very unoriginal) comment, which infers our league is weak: Sometimes it's okay to break away from the "group think" and formulate your own opinions about who is going to make a return on your investment. Some of the best reads on draft prospects IMO are the guys that don't follow the herd, such as Dave Razzano and Greg Cosell. Here's what NFL Films guru Greg Cosell (highly regarded in player analysis) had to say about LeShoure:"Leshoure my top back as far as being foundation of offense.Question is handling mindset, being competitive snap after snap. Like DET pick."http://twitter.com/#!/gregcosell/status/64838158289879040I'm not guaranteeing he's going to be a better fantasy player than Green over the next three years, but based on Cosell's comments he likely sees a nice return early and a lot of opportunity in that offense. Green is a blue chip talent but with the unstable QB situation in Cincinnati + generally longer time for WR's to become consistent contributors I could see the downside to this pick. Fantasy team need also can be a factor.

Sorry Keefer, but I don't buy that justification. There is no way AJ Green should fall to #5 in a PPR dynasty. Even if he looked like Darius Hayward Bey this year, he would be able to net you a #5 pick and a lot more the following season. I am all for taking risks, but that is an example of overthinking things IMO.

You're a talent over situation guy, as I generally am as well as most on this board. As I said before I would have taken him 1.2 and was very surprised to see him last until 1.5.The way our league is structured though, where you can spend up to $5 on a rookie for 5 years in a $100 cap league often times you can't get over the top with a lot of dead cap space waiting for guys to contribute. Some guys lean more toward opportunity to produce and want results right away. Guys used to spend heavy in the rookie draft and then we'd get to the free agent auction draft and see solid established fantasy players going for less due to people being up against the cap. Therefore there's a trend right now of shorter/smaller contracts, running backs who contribute right away, TE's and QB's going way later because few are worth a lot at auction, etc.Everyone from the first pick on had hesitancy on his landing spot. In our league DHB was untradeable after his rookie year. Green is a WAY better prospect than DHB, but there are other cases of super high WR picks going to crappy teams that fizzle out.Again if it was me I would have pulled the trigger, just giving the other side.

12 Team PPR Flexy lineupshttp://football5.myfantasyleague.com/2011/options?L=48544&O=17
Lance Kendicks first TE off the board?
Yep...I'm not real sure he shouldn't be either. I think Rudolph may be a better complete TE...but Kendricks was taken to be a pass catcher.
isn't he playing behind finley though?
You're thinking of DJ Williams. Yes, Kendricks should be taken before Rudolph. I took Kendricks over Rudolph in about 5 leagues already.
Williams is playing behind last years rookie too Quarles.

Wow, still going. Can't believe Murray went so high. Guy even admitted it was a HUGE reach for him, but he needed to lock up the Cowboys backfield, in his opinion, and couldn't trade back. Same guy who made the comments about Thomas vs. Jones above...9. Jon Baldwin10. Cam Newton11.DeMarco Murray

lmao LeShoure and Thomas before Green. Can I join?
I don't understand this reasoning but I love it. Who cares what his short-term situation looks like? If he pans out as expected, he's going to be catching balls for the next 10 years. It's a dynasty draft people. The cream always rises to the top.

Why would you not trade down if you had the 3 pick ????????????????I don't care if your in a 32 team league Barkley thinks that pick was turrble.

Wow, i dont care if he is Cam Newtons brother, there is no reason to take Newton at 1.3 in a start 1 QB league, drafting him because he has Claussen is terrible. Its the Panthers QB's he is locking up, not the Texans RB's(and even that wouldnt be smart).

AgreedJust really poor drafting. With that roster, he should've drafted a WR.

Guess the Greg Little hype has died down ? Still on the board at 1.12, I've never seen him last that long.
I think it's more the mediocre rb hype has picked up.
How does 1 guy get 11 out the first 24 picks in your rookie draft?
Massive rebuild. He traded pretty much everything he had of value for picks this year and next. He has 5 1st rounders next year, though only one (his) projects to be top 6, barring unforseen team collapse or injuries. Should be interesting to see what happens.

The two owners that had the 4 picks (1.08-1.11) immediately before Little was selected are weaker owners, for sure. The guy who picked Delone Carter at 1.07 is usually a better decision maker, not sure what happened there.

Jerome Simpson at 1.07? Figured he would slide well into the 3rd round in any league where he is a free agent. Relying on AJ Green to bust doesn't seem like a good enough risk/reward to go with him that high.
Agreed, why not if you are looking wr
Please don't comment on players who are still on the board.
Never have really understood this sentitment, as if GM's don't throw a head fake out there now and then. Seems petty.
