The problem with this line of thought is that 99% of women hate it.Freedom, flexibility and variety seem to trump any alternate argument.
I have a friend who went back to school at a later age. The kids liked him, wanted him to go out, and kept inviting him to functions. He finally replied, "We're not going to get stoned and listen to Moondance, are we?"Gr00vus said:Van Morrison is overrated and his music is mostly annoying.
Exactly. See previous post. Most Americans are dull, sheeplike, lazy, uninformed, unrefined sacks of #### who consume mass quantities of whatever mediocre crap corporate America sells them, whether it's movies, music, food, political candidates, or household goods. The bar just keeps getting lower, and frankly it's embarrassing.
Like, you know, the AZ legislature. Not the same, plus a gay person can conceal it when it is advantageous. There is a long history of discrimination against them and there are certainly millions of people that think no gays allowed establishments would be acceptable.F'in AMEN!I never saw a "gays only" water faucet, bathroom or food counter. Never seen a "homo's in back" sign on any buses.Gay rights' struggles are not analogous to the Civil Rights of the 50s and 60s.
Sure, you've got some equality issues but stop acting like cops are hosing your @zz down at your gatherings.
Agreed. Exactly like fans of Radiohead. No Country For Old Men is an all-time worst movie and is only liked by people who think it makes them look smart for knowing the "hidden meaning." :X

Agree 100%. I can even buy that they were a better band than Nirvana.Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge, was astounding from the cover art to the music.
I think you're right, now that I think about what you've said. The politics came after they hit it big. It was something to talk about, and was kind of new for mainstream America. Good point.Agree 100%. I can even buy that they were a better band than Nirvana.Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge, was astounding from the cover art to the music.
But I don't think scene politics really come into it. Nirvana had a debut single that struck a chord with the public, Mudhoney didn't (I don't even think "Suck You Dry" is that good at all). That's pretty much the whole story.
Maybe Nirvana's glossy production came into play too. Who knows. But the correlation between which bands are good and which hit it big is pretty weak.
I'm so glad you disagree with that. I don't think I agree with even 5% of your posts. You're a Bears fan right?Gender equality is great in theory, but just doesn't work. Much like communism.![]()
My programming doesn't allow this realization.most people are brainwashed/programmed and don't even realize it
This i am convinced of...most people are brainwashed/programmed and don't even realize it
That's just what they want you to think.most people are brainwashed/programmed and don't even realize it
DING! DING! DING!I think Led Zeppelin is a bunch of music thieves
Tiger Woods used PEDs and only took time off to get clean
The NBA is completely fixed
I don't disagree with it. I was just laughing at it.Eta: Yes, I'm a Bears fan. I can't really remember crossing paths with you much around here or what you post. This isn't a thread I'll come into to disagree with someone. Circle of trust...I'm so glad you disagree with that. I don't think I agree with even 5% of your posts. Popular, unpopular...whatever. Good points.Metallica was more about the triumph of a style of music than specific musical abilities (They are solid, though). They were the first wildly popular thrash metal/unapologetically metal band.
I'll defend Led Zep for a minute too. They borrowed a lot of stuff and maybe didn't give proper credit sometimes and they are, perhaps, vastly overrated, but, most modern music is not that original and borrows from the music that came before it. Those Blues guys that Zep copied, borrowed stuff from their predecessors too. Zep did play the blues well and gave a unique spin on it, as well as incorporating other influences.
Not to sidetrack too much but the argument they made on napster was that they didn't have control of their property. A song that wasn't even released to the public was being downloaded for free. They weren't even making a big deal about their existing music initially. They put their work in and made a song only for it to basically be stolen and given away by someone else before they could show it to the world.Metallica kind of lost me after the whole Napster douchebaggery. Just seemed like a bunch of hypocrites. They basically died to me after And Justice for All.
I've never heard you express this before.RGIII is Devin Hester with ability to throw hard and not a quarterback.
I heard they're starting Grossman this year and letting Griffin compete for PR/KR.RGIII is Devin Hester with ability to throw hard and not a quarterback.
That's the general consensus among most fans.Metallica kind of lost me after the whole Napster douchebaggery. Just seemed like a bunch of hypocrites. They basically died to me after And Justice for All.
Yeah Lars is more the object of my scorn.Insein said:Not to sidetrack too much but the argument they made on napster was that they didn't have control of their property. I used to be mad as hell at them too but as I got older and understood the argument, I side with them more now.
Lars is still a dooche though.

I don't know anyone in Metallica, and for all I know, they're all complete jerks. But I can't help but notice that the public turned on Metallica because Metallica didn't want their music to be downloaded for free. What, the band should welcome that kind of illegal downloading as a good thing?Insein said:Not to sidetrack too much but the argument they made on napster was that they didn't have control of their property. Correct, usually.Women with fake boobs are not hot
I think all sports should have a Base-ketballs style playoff system.I think March Madness should construct itself more like the Champions League -- minus the group stage -- and I don't care if it's not as fair.
Finally, a real unpopular opinion!I hate March Madness - most overrated sports event ever.
