Green Bay is going to beat New England in a few weeks. Not a doubt in my mind. Similar offense, superior defense.
So were the Steelers, the Colts, the Ravens and, the changing of the guard in the AFC East Jets.
You haven't faced a team like Green Bay yet, son. Plus now with the future stud Starks up and running, I'd be surprised if the Pats can stay within 10 points.
You're right. With the NFC being the dominant conference, the wins over the AFC's best doesn't hold much weight. Hopefully, after the Pats lose the next two games to the powerful NFC North teams, they'll somehow muster up a way to back into the playoffs. Or at least one can hope.

Wow, how think are those :stalker: glasses? The Pats did beat the Dolphins 41-14 on the road....that the Packers lost to at home.Future stud in Starks? Gosh those have to be Harry Carey coke bifocals.

Jets beat the Browns, who dismantled the Pats. Just saying. Doesn't mean squat. Right now, the Pats are the best team in the AFC. After next week, who knows?

He was saying that the Pats can't stay with the Packers....and Starks is a future stud. We all can go back and forth over losses. I simply was pointing out that a common opponent shows that the Pats can stay within his ludacrious comment.

The Patriots play the Bills in week 16...that's the superbowl for fantasy, right?

If we're talking about the NFL superbowl, I think it will be the winner of the NFC East...Eagles or Giants. If the Giants can get healthy at the WR position and have Nicks back while their run game is clicking and the defense is playing well....that's going to be hard to stop in the playoffs.

Not likely. I agree with the rest of your post.

In English please?Dolphins were fortunate enough to play the Packers sans-Matthews. Call it a glitch in the matrix.

LOL...front runners that stay as quiet as a church mouse BEFORE the game, but puff their chest out after a win - a dime a dozen.

The NFL is a funny league, to peg any team as a lock to go to the Super Bowl shows a great deal of naivety.
Pssst... That's how you're supposed to do it. Walk the walk, then talk the talk.
Pssssssst...staying quiet and then acting all cool like you knew what was going to happen as a fan is actually kind of weak. That said, if it is the way you are supposed to do it, one would think that granting your team a Super Bowl victory might be a little hypocritical...In the NFL...well, that is a different story. The Jets has Monday coming to them.

I have a hard time picking the Giants simply because they turn the ball over way too much. Eli throws a lot of picks, and they fumble the ball too much as a team (their lead rusher has fumbled the ball six times this year). Not saying they can't go to the Super Bowl, but their turnover problem is a major issue.

There are two things that I am sure about:

1) If the Pats play in the AFC Championship game I will be rooting for whatever AFC team is playing against them

2) If the Pats play in the Super Bowl I will be rooting for the NFC team.

Fixed

Anything can happen, but for those that are bashing the Pats, against teams .500 or better they are 6-1 and have a scoring margin of 31-20.

They play the Bears this week who are 3-2 against .500 teams or better, with an average margin of 18-17. For those pimping GB, the Pack has gone 2-3 against teams .500 or better and have scored an average of 18 points vs. 21 for their opponents.

pro tip: if you cant beat the falcons, you cant be the pats. hth.
Didn't the Patriots lose to the Browns not too long ago? Just sayin'...don't take anything for grantedI'm afraid unless the Packers get their running game together they can't beat the Patriots though and I think that's the key to take them down, even though it is their pass D that's been rated almost comically low this season.
Comically low, yes. But comically effective as well.
I don't know about "effective", outside of last week's game. Here's some good readinghttp://coldhardfootballfacts.com/Articles/...Fatal_Flaw.html

Brady has been playing lights out and they've been able to outscore pretty much everybody. The bottom line though, if the defense keeps performing like they did last week then the previous eleven weeks' stats don't really apply.

Everyone except those who spoke after the fact.

Side note...as it relates to New England, it is amazing to think that this is a rebuilding year for them too.

As long as Belichick is there to wheel and deal draft picks every year, the Patriots wont have a "rebuilding year". Some years will be better than others, but they'll always be in the hunt.

But that's the thing - they are in the process of rebuilding the team, sans QB, and most teams would be toast. If you want to call it retooling, that's fine too.Credit is due.

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- It wasn't just the New York Jets who got blitzed in Monday night's football game against the New England Patriots.

Foxboro Police Chief Edward O'Leary says officers took 102 fans into protective custody for public intoxication, by far the most he can remember at a Patriots game in his 25 years as chief. Seven required hospitalization.

Fifteen people were taken into custody on a variety of other charges.

O'Leary tells The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro that about half the drunken fans were apprehended as they tried to enter Gillette Stadium. He says many were battling the frigid pre-game temperatures with hard liquor.

He says the lopsided score -- the Patriots won 45-3 -- may have contributed to the problem because many fans lost interest in the game.

:lmao: 2 years ago, they had an old, slow defense that got by on guile & guts. Here we are today with the youngest defense in the NFL, going through growing pains, but improving at a good rate. Lots of nice pieces to build around, including Chung/Merriwether at the S, McCourty as a tough corner, Mayo/Spikes as the ILB pairing for several years, and some decent run-stopping play out of the D-Line. With the stockpile of picks this coming draft, the Patriots look like they've got enough ammo to continue to be perennial contenders for the Super Bowl throughout the rest of Brady's career.

A MNF game against the most hated rival in Foxboro ends up with drunks? If this really is the most put under PC "by far," its only because they didn't really PC most drunks until recently. Foxboro has always been a bit of an asylum for night games.

And I'm sure none of them were Jets fans. This is just another huge reach to show how classless Pats fans are.

Good thing Big Ben wasn't in attendence. He would have been trying to take advantage of some of these drunk women in the bathroom.

Now that the fraud that is the New York Jets has been exposed, we can concentrate on who New England will be beating in this year's superbowl.Let's take a look...Although the Chargers are probably the second best team in the NFL, there's a chance they could miss out on the playoffs. I'm gonna assume they are in.Which of the following will not make the playoffs?AFCPatriotsChargersRavensJetsJaguarsChiefsSteelersColtsNFCFalconsPackersBearsSaintsGiantsEaglesRams or SeahagsPersonally I'm hoping the giants make the superbowl so we can take back what was stolen from us (hint: David Tyree, 18-1, etc.)
Giants will take your team down again. Perfect season ruined.

Update:As predicted, the Chargers are making their run to take their division. It will be very interesting to watch KC and Oak in their respective games this week.Ravens really need to bounce back tonight (havent been watching the game).Jets are folding like a cheap tent and will get $$$$$-slapped in Pittsburg this week.Hope rodgers is available for the game this weekend. And I hope its snowing.Falcons, Saints, Eagles, Giants <- NFC rep in the superbowl is in herePatriots, Chargers <- AFC rep in the superbowl is in here
