I can keep either LeSean McCoy as a 2nd Rounder, or Melvin Gordon as a 3rd. Next year, they would be available to me as a 1st and 2nd rounder, respectively. 

I have the first pick in the draft this year, and plan on taking L. Bell. Current rankings Gordon as RB4 and McCoy as RB6.

I am currently leaning towards keeping Gordon, as he will have more benefit to me the following year. Both McCoy and Gordon have injury histories, and I see that as a draw. My reservation is that McCoy is more proven, and I have a bias towards him. Would you share your thoughts on my McCoy versus Gordon conundrum?

I am a fan of McCoy but I'd lean more towards keeping Gordon if I were you.  I think they will both have good/similar years but with Gordon's age and the value he could have for your team in the years to come, I'd lean towards him.

I am assuming that you couldn't keep Bell and McCoy next year as they both have first round value and your league wouldn't let you keep one as a 2nd rounder.  That being the case I would keep Gordon.  With the ability to get Bell with your first pick that makes Bell your first round keeper next year.  So keep Gordon and you are set for two years (assuming injuries don't rear their ugly head).

I wouldn't care about next year at all. I'd rather have McCoy than Gordon, much more proven and is basically the entire offense.

I like McCoy better than Gordon this year, so in this type of keeper league, I like to do what I can to win it all this year.  Also, there's no guarantee Gordon will be a stud for the next two years.  Things change fast.  We all thought Trent Richardson was going to be a stud for years to come.....look how that turned out.  Personally, I think Gordon is a good talent but not an elite talent.  McCoy IMO has elite talent.

Keep the RB that you think is better this year.  I think that's McCoy.  If you have them similarly ranked, then I can see keeping Gordon as the tiebreaker.
