Preseason Game: Titans vs Bills (1 Viewer)

Could Price be a legit fantasy play this season?
Price had 45 receptions last season, with a crazy-low 8.2 yards per catch. He's certainly worth drafting. David Boston without the hype or the risk.
or upside.
Why does Boston have more upside than Price? Price has a 94/1252/9 season to his credit.
Boston has a 98/1598/8 season to his credit.
So, marginally better. Price's season still suggests the potential for a lot of upside.

Soooo... 4-68 for Roydell in the first half and nothing for Brandon Jones. Is he playing? Has Roydell become a starter? For those watching, how much did Roydell/Jones/Moulds/others see the field in the 1st half? TIA.

yes, Jones was out there, saw one play intended for him that vince missed him on. Looks like he and Williams are the starters based off this game.

Wow, Brandon Jackson has a better YPA, TD's, receptions, etc. than Lynch; and can be had about 5 rounds later. Pretty good value. Lynch looks terrible!!
Looks like this is the beginning of a trend. Will we see drafts start pushing Jackson ahead of Lynch? It would not surprise me in the least.

If Freddie Jackson doesn't make the Buffalo squad, I'm going to be pretty steamed. Yeah, he's getting time against 3rd and 4th stringers, but he's been absolutely tearing them up all preseason. This guy has some serious wheels.

I know it's only preseason, but Trent Edwards has completed 28/37 passes for a completion percentage of 76%. Now is the time to stash him if he's available in your dynasty league.

Can Scaife be a top10 TE?
No....To many good TE in the league .... he can be Top 11-15
I disagree with this. As long as VY is healthy, he loves looking his way. I don't think 55/650/6 is a stretch for Bo this year which should put him right inside the top-10. If he gets targets like I believe he will, his upside is huge. Not a bad TE2 to target when his downside is in the 40/440/4 range.

Absolutely top 10 material.

Heath Miller was the #13 TE last year and you're putting Scaife's FLOOR as more points than the #13 TE last year? Hmmmm. 40/440/4 is a pretty significant floor for an unproven TE.

So does Lynch stink or his O-line? Maybe McGahee and his 3.8 ypc is better than Lynch and his 1.0 YPC?
I can't watch but I have a hard time believing it's Lynch. They have raved about him all pre-season with his explosiveness etc. The 'upgraded' OL isn't going to be much with Walker at RT. He needs to be a RG again.

I attended the game. Here is what I saw:

Bills first team O looked horrible for the most part. Two big time plays and not much else. JP was pressured a lot. In the previous games he scrambled more, in this game he stayed put and tried to make plays but didn't have much success. Hard to judge Lynch, he was hit in the backfield several times and in general the line was getting pushed around by the Titans. Edwards does look very good, a very nice dynasty sleeper. One thing I see is that he is VERY good at the checkdown, something JP is horrible at. Using the checkdown can REALLY pad a QBs stats. R Parrish is another GREAT deep sleeper for dynasty leagues. I think he could be Steve Smith-lite if they would put him in the starting lineup.

Bills D looked bad too, mainly due to missed tackles. If it was only Young that would be excusable, but they really had a hard time wrapping up anybody. They are going to have to figure out how to stop the run or the Bills are going to be staring at a top 5 pick next year.

Hard to judge the Titans offense when you know the Bills D is playing so poorly. They pushed around the Bills D on the line of scrimmage for the most part in the running game. The Bills got good pressure on Young, but could never quite wrap him up when they had him. I am making a play to get Scaife in every league I can. Young looked for him on a lot of 3rd down plays.

Thanks for the update.Edwards is a guy that I'm pretty familiar with since I follow Stanford closely. I can tell you that he played with one of the worst supporting casts of any QB in D1. Stanford had two good experienced WRs last season and they both missed virtually the entire season with serious injuries. So Edwards was throwing to a bunch of guys who either didn't have any experience or didn't belong on an NCAA football field. It didn't help that his offensive line was atrocious and that probably none of the RBs on the roster would've gotten playing time for any other Pac-10 team. Anyhow, he was a five star recruit coming out of high school. He could've gone just about anywhere. His trademark in high school was his accuracy, so it's interesting to see him translating that to the NFL so far. I have him on four out of my five dynasty teams and will be watching his situation closely. Everything I've read says Losman will be the unquestioned starter this season. But if the Bills have another mediocre year (probable) and Edwards continues to impress (possible), things could get very interesting in 2008.

No suprise here, but it's going to be a long long year for the Bills. Mediocre offense and brutal defense.

I think Marshall Faulk predicted 3-13 for the Bills......he very well could be right. That schedule is brutal.

That was before he weighed 300 lbs.

How does that make him TE10 ahead of:GatesGonzalezHeapShockeyCrumplerWinslowCooleyVDWittenMcMichaelMillerStevensLJ SmithAll of whom I'd draft ahead of Scaife.

Miller

Stevens

LJ Smith

Miller isnt even being targeted currently by the QBs in Pitt. None of the TEs have been.

Stevens hasnt been starting, Alex Smith has.

LJ Smith has an stomach injury again and Schobel is playing well.

And with all that said, I have Scaife at #11. :o

I should probably pay more attention. If I didn't have Gates, I probably would.

I'd still take Miller over scaife though, he's been a redzone option in Pittsburgh since he was drafted and will clearly be #1 when the season starts.

About the only consolations the Bills fans can take away are that the passing game did pretty well (Losman to Evans= :towelwave: ), that Fowler coming back at Center will get Duke Preston the heck out of there, and that Buffalo has called VERY vanilla defenses in the preseason. I'd still like to see Pennington at RT rather than Walker. Signing Walker was a HUGE mistake, especially when Pennington was playing so well at RT at the end of last season.Once the Bills start blitzing more, I think that the defense will be a bit better. They need to tackle better, no excuse for that. But this team relies heavily on Schobel and Kelsay getting to the QB to cause disruptions in the offense. We'll see more of that once the season starts IMO.

Scaife is the most undervalued TE in fantasy drafts. He is poised for a breakout year. Troupe has been a bust, they don't have much in WR's, he seems to always catch a few balls. I have him 10th in my rankings.

 I am honestly surprised more sharks aren't pimping him. Yes, I think his floor is in the 40 catch range and I figured most would disagree. I just can't see VY's favorite target averaging LESS than 2.5 catches a game. He'll be on the field a lot more this year. 6-7 targets a game (which is very likely) will definately put him closer to the top-5. Not saying that it will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Go ahead with:

McMichael

Miller

Stevens

LJ Smith

I'll get Scaife on the cheap and be quite happy with my top-11 with top-7 upside.
