Been watching some of the preseason games on NFL Network (where they replay the local home team coverage of the games) and they show a less than full screen of the game itself. The coverage is a small portion on both the left and right side of the screen. They are still showing full screen overall, since their crawl at the bottom of the screen goes the full left to right. It's a bit less than the black portion from a SD channel.
Just wondering why they do that. It's not to make you watch the local channel, since they don't show in your area if it is your teams.
