So do it. Do it.For a long time I've actually thought about doing a "Greatest American" draft, with President being one category.
Sean Hannity should be consensus #1 pick. For a long time I've actually thought about doing a "Greatest American" draft, with President being one category.

I'd love to. I just don't have the time right now to manage it. Maybe over the summer? Either that, or I'll gladly participate if someone else wants to run it.So do it. Do it.For a long time I've actually thought about doing a "Greatest American" draft, with President being one category.

Bust.2.1 Obama FTW
I don't think there should be categories, just an overall draft. I can think of great Americans who might not fit into any of those categories. What categories did you have in mind other than President?legislator (house, senate, governor, etc.)military leader journalistscientistreligious/spiritual leadereducatorsocial reformerartistwhat else?I'd love to. There is usually a wild card spot in these to cover the hard to fit people/things.I don't think there should be categories, just an overall draft. I don't like categories. Suppose we have 20 people in the draft. There might be 70 political leaders worthy of being chosen in our history, for instance, and only 13 social reformers. Then the draft becomes uneven, and many worthy people are left out, while some total stretches are put in. Besides, what about people in multiple categories? Better simply to be able to choose who you want without restriction. There is usually a wild card spot in these to cover the hard to fit people/things.I don't think there should be categories, just an overall draft. I like this list, although I don't see the need to have a separate Woman category, and definitely think Journalist should be a unique category (in the hopes that someone will pick Rush Limbaugh and cause me to go into fits of convulsive laughter).I was thinking this for categories:* President* General / Military Figure* Statesman / Bureacrat* Scientest* Business Mogul* Humanitarian* Artist / Author* Woman* Sports Figure* Patriotic Symbol / IconA person could only be selected in one category. So those who could fit into multiple categories could be selected to prevent him from being selected in another (think G.Washington).The last category would be like what your team would have on the side of their football helmet. I kinda like that idea.
We're already a testosterone-heavy board, so I think it's very possible to do this draft without a single woman being taken if they don't get their own category. Since a big plus to these kinds of drafts is learning about people that we otherwise wouldn't know much about, the woman category is really there to stretch our knowledge of American history. Plus, it's got great potential for schtick!I like this list, although I don't see the need to have a separate Woman category, and definitely think Journalist should be a unique category (in the hopes that someone will pick Rush Limbaugh and cause me to go into fits of convulsive laughter).I was thinking this for categories:* President* General / Military Figure* Statesman / Bureacrat* Scientest* Business Mogul* Humanitarian* Artist / Author* Woman* Sports Figure* Patriotic Symbol / IconA person could only be selected in one category.
