President Trump plans to extend Travel Ban to 7 more countries (1 Viewer)

The people themselves by and large aren't the problem. They're often sick of the religious police even more than we are, and tired of living in fear. Why should it be harder for them to escape oppressive regimes?

Because we’re afraid.

I hoped that while everyone else was consumed with impeachment that rascal Stephen Miller had spent all his time testing new spray-on hair products.  Guess not.   :(

Today is one of the days I’m glad my wife and her family are from one of the Muslim countries where Trump has properties (Indonesia).

Done. Though I’m not sure what it accomplishes. Most people know what President Trump’s intent is, going back to his 2016 campaign.

The word ban is from the article which is from the Wall Street Journal, usually not considered a liberal media source.
“Trump Administration Plans to Expand Travel Restrictions to Seven Countries“

Its not a ban , at least right now and it’s not from just Muslim countries

Then the terrorists have already won. We have more to fear from domestic terror than foreign agents entering the country, but that wouldn't fit the narrative, would it?
The terrorists won the moment we signed the Patriot Act into law.

Wasn’t this supposed to be temporary?  Let me guess...they have never worked on new vetting to lift any of this...right?

interesting:

Belarus's longtime ruler ordered a major shake-up of the country's military and security command on January 20, installing a new defense minister, a new general staff chief, and a new head of the Security Council.

A few days later, President Alyaksandr Lukashenka ripped into the country's eastern neighbor, whose oil exports are a major part of Belarus' creaky economy. Russia had "screwed us," he said, using an even more explicit phrase.

On January 30, Belarus's military went on alert after the new commanders ordered snap exercises to "check combat readiness" and "their readiness to fulfill their mission in a rapidly changing environment."

Oh, and the U.S. secretary of state arrives in Minsk on February 1 -- the highest-level visit by a U.S. official since John Bolton, then the White House national-security adviser, traveled there five months ago.

Something's up in Belarus.

"There is a general feeling that something is going on. The situation is probably more serious on the whole than before," said Arkady Moshes, a researcher and director of the Russia and European Program at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs. "However, if you deconstruct all of these things…none of these things that [Lukashenka] is doing is unprecedented."

I don't see any logic for Tanzania in particular.  My niece and her husband have been working there for several years (Wycliffe Bible Translations in SW part of the country).  My wife and I visited two years ago.  I haven't been hearing, and didn't observe anything, that would give me pause.

Trump Supporters, 2017-2019*: We're not calling for a travel ban on 7 more countries.

Trump, 2020*: We should have a travel ban on 7 more countries.

Trump Supporters, 2020*: Awesome!

*not real quotes...yet

Sounds like these werent specific to what was happening in the countries but more related to security protocols for vetting their citizens.
