Presidential Debate Thread - Obama vs. Romney (2 Viewers)

I don't think there's enough difference in either man's ability to handle foreign policy to make a big difference. For most people this is way down the list of concerns. It's the economy, and I think when people go to the polls they'll realize that Mitt is more qualified and Obama's policies aren't working.

Romney just owned Obama
Yeah that was a beat down. Credit Obama for not bursting into tears and running off the stage after that.
:crushing:This is not close at all, Mitch way over his head on Foreign Affairs as suspected. How did McCain not own Barry like this in 2008? Maybe he did and I don't remember. I agree with Romney to some degree on Pakistan but the Israel pom-poms is creepy IMO.
McCain wasn't the incumbent president. Sitting in security briefings for four years gives Obama a huge advantage.

guess its angry black man tonight.
Wow. Really?
yeah, really. obama talking about israel as his friend is disgusting. hes done everything he can to create distance.
If by "everything he can" you mean "not going out of his way to kiss Israel's ### 24/7", I agree.
Yeah, but he did not use any tongue.
Well, fortunately for him, he'll have another 4 years to get that down. ;)

You can really tell the difference in posts in this thread between the left and the right. Progressives in here are coming off as petulant, snarky and childish. Is this how the President is debating so far? I hope so.

BTW: Didn't Obama have ZERO experience on foreign policy and yet was elected by the same people in here harping on Romney for having no experience?

Obama's condescending manner is unseemly. Plus he just plain lies. Let's ask Netanyahu if he's been a friend to Israel.

McCain had a lot more experience in this realm over the years than Obama has now. He didn't make the decisions Obama has made, but he knows more than these two fellas right here combined.

I like how Mitt really enunciates all the foreign pronunciation. You just know the poor sonofa##### has been staring at flash cards for three weeks.

Is Otis the most annoying poster here? And I'm a Democrat.
Haha, seriously. Did he tell you Obama is crushing it!

Things Otis has in common with a three-toed sloths....three digits.

Little confused, Romney just repeated verbatim what Obama said about Afghanistan and the 2014 deadline. Then Obama didn't restate his point and completely neglected the question...

There it is, guys - straight out of the mouth of an impartial observer. Thank you for your service.

Barring a huge gaffe by one or the other I can't imagine this debate is going to change much. I already prefer Obama on foreign policy but I'm supporting Romney. I think most of the non-partisan voters who favor Romney now aren't doing so for foreign policy reasons.
If you support Romney, the best you come out of this debate with is that belief that the guy will learn on the job and be better. It's not quite as easy for Conservatives to say that without being hypocritical....seeing as they drilled the point of Obama's foreign policy inexperience and the dangers of "learning on the job" back in 08. But for Indy's such as myself....we can sort through the partisan BS and acknowledge that there is no REAL training that would help you be the POTUS.... you're always learning on the job.

Only in America can a man get rich by gutting companies for profit, provide exactly zero details on how he would do anything, and "be more qualified" to deal with the economy than the President of the United States. That statement is ludicrous.

Romney: I love everything the president has done with drones.

well played sir

And yet you elected a guy with ZERO experience in anything in 2008? Why the double standard?

You forgot he also only really provided his investors with a return on par with the DJIA.

It won't keep him from repeating it.

Let's ask Netanyahu if he's been a friend to Israel.
No, let's ask the people of Israel:http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Society_&_Culture/ispousa.htmlThe vast majority of Israelis believe that Obama is either pro-Israel or balanced between Israel and Palestinians, as he should be. Israelis are evenly split on who should be the next POTUS.Obama has been a great friend to Israel. He has not been such a good friend to Netanyahu. Netanyahu is not Israel.

:goodposting: Romney is making Obama talk in circles. Romney is winning so far.

If you switched their foreign policy platforms, nobody would notice.
That would actually seem to benefit Romney i would think. If people come away thinking that Romney would be essentially the same as the President on foreign policy, that seems like a win for Romney.

Let's ask all those countries that hated us under the GW administration what progress he's made. Shall we? Turkey who was about to throw us out and cut off ties? Our true ally in the United Kingdom? They began moving towards Europe because they were at such odds with us over everything that was happening from 2003 on. You keep bringing up Israel like it is the only other country on earth, makes you seem dumber than everyone else thinks you are already. If you want to talk foreign policy, I'm your huckleberry. Go.
