Preston Parker (1 Viewer)

I normally ignore guys like this and save my WW leverage for better prospects, but in this case I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something. At first glance there are way too many mouths to feed in TB for some "no-name" slot guy to be fantasy worthy. Mike Williams is supposed to be the up and coming playmaker. Arrelius Benn is coming off ACL and was 1st round rookie pick in most dynasty leagues. Briscoe has shown flashes and thought to have enough talent to push Benn. Winslow obviously gets his share of targets as well. But the reality is that none of those guys are doing much at all through two weeks.

Now I see two games where some dude names Preston Parker has put up very solid PPR stats. Is this going to be Freemans safety blanket? Is he more than a PPR guy - can he run after catch, get on top of coverage, etc?

I'll probably get outbid regardless since I there's always a couple of guys in every league who will blow 2/3 of their BB money on guys like this. But I'd still like some feedback for anyone who knows more about this kid.

he's a fill in for Stroughter in the slot. All the defenses attention has been going towards Mike Williams so Parker is benefiting. Who knows if that will continue and how long. If you have a guy to drop than he's probably worth a shot, but he's future outlook is a little questionable. When Stroughter comes back does he go to the bench? Seems like 2nd string slot WR's aren't worth much. My assumption, based off the information I've seen, is that Briscoe would more than likely fill in on the outside if something happened to either Williams or Benn

Is he going to continue to return Kicks AND Punts?

As the slot WR, potential KR and PR, he's got some value in PPR, return yardage leagues, no?

I don't think it is fair to call him a "no-name". He was one of the top recruits in the country while he was in high school. But he had a lot of off-the-field issues at FSU (arrests, suspensions, etc.) until they finally showed him out the door. He probably would have been a high draft pick if not for that. (That said, as someone above mentioned, he is currently just filling in for Stroughter, so anybody's guess what happens after he comes back.)

:lmao: noticed this guy on the WW in my 14-team redraft and thought the same thing as the OP. so I figured I'd come here to see if anyone had posted about him before I took a chance.13 targets / 10 receptions for 142 yards. 0 TDs isn't terrible among the fodder. he holds the most targets (next to hester - 14), receptions and yards of anyone else on the WW.exactly, who is this guy?

fwiw it looks like stroughter is out for a decent while at leastBucs WR/KR Sammie Stroughter will have surgery Tuesday to repair a "small" fracture in his left foot.Stroughter injured his left foot on a kickoff return Sunday. Look for Preston Parker and Micheal Spurlock to fill in as depth at receiver and kick returners for the next month or so. Sep 12 - 12:14 PMSource: Roy Cummings on Twitter

This guy is one of those "Welker" type receivers, that we see many teams try to incorporate, none quite as successfully as the original. That said, I think he has possibilities, and a quick review of his career shows that if he could have kept his head on straight, we probably would all know who he is by now. I'm not ready to put him in my lineup, but I am intrigued...

He was a local product that went to Florida State and got kicked out after his second arrest. He then transferred to North Alabama and really flew under the radar. Come draft time the red flags flew to high and he was left with a practice squad spot on the Bucs last year(getting in week 17 and playing well). Talent has always been there, personality is a whole different issue.

:this:Kid has always had talent. Highly recruited, as a Sophomore was voted FSU's most valuable offensive player on his way to 2nd team All ACC honors. The kid is electric. He is also (or was) a knucklehead. He certainly was a difference maker in college. Anyone in return yard leagues had better take note as he is returning punts and kickoffs, at least for right now. I thought even last fall and into the spring that he would make the squad this year as WR5. Was wondering during training camp due to the performance of Dez Briscoe. I dropped Collie to pick him up (we give .03 points per return yard and PPC). 180 (12x15) players in league on roster. Believe FBG has him rated around WR 80, but he should exceed that. Ironically, 1 spot in front of my other deep sleeper Dane Sanzenbacher.

He'll be battling Briscoe for snaps. Kinda reminds me of Pitt situation between Sanders and Brown. Can't see there being enough scraps for the #4 target in Tampa, especially since they seem to be recommitting to the running game.

Bump.

Nice TD catch. Benn is clearly in the mix in Tampa as well. I like him, I love his QB. Long-term dynasty stash and hold, but can they have 3 WR's that have fantasy value?

Preston Parker hails from Clinton, Utah. He knows Spanish, Pig Latin and Italian.

He now resides in Logan, Utah.

He liked the Beatles and fantasy books. He watches 60 Minutes and Star Trek.

I was just about to start a new thread. thanks for bumping this. so far this year he leads the bucs in yds and in receptions and has as many TD as Mike W.(1 td) His first game was ok

Game 1: 4-44-0 w/6 targets

Game 2: 6-98-0 w/7 targets

Game 3: 1-11-0 w/1 target

Game 4: 5-70-1 w/7 targets

Anything to see here? so far maybe game 3 is the outlier, but when he gets targets he has decent numbers. decent wr3, but what about Benn does he emerge as well because he has benn quiet so far...

Actually saw Parker at Tx v Nation game a couple of years ago. Scouts were very interested in him because of the promise he showed in high school and at FSU/North Alabama. His speed was on full display, but he had a rough week of practice because of his hands. Good to see the Bucs stick with him, and he's earning the trust of Freeman.

He's impressing me more than Williams is this year. And more importantly, he runs those underneath routes that Freeman likes to throw; he seems timid about going downfield. It's all dink & dunk.

So far this season, none of the TB WRs have been impressive. Maybe it is because Freeman has spread the ball around. Maybe it is because Freeman is not taking shots downfield. Freeman is a young, accurate QB. The value of the WRs should only go up.

I would rather have Parker than Benn at this point. Benn could have had a nice stat line had he not stepped out of bounds on that 87 yard TD but Parker seems to be more involved in the O week to week.
