Yeah it is only 2 weeks, but what is the fun if we wait for the network to annouce it. So, SNF games are not decided for Nov 12 to Dec 31.....what are your predictions for these games now that you know some about the teams this year?

Remember the games already on MNF, Sat and Thursday games cannot be moved.

My take

Week 10: Chicago at NY Giants (Option 2: SD @ Cincy)

Week 11: Falcons at Ravens (Option 2: Denver vs SD - battle for AFC West)

Week 12: Ravens vs Pittsburgh (Option 2: Chi @ NE or Eagles @ Indy)

Week 13: Arizona @ ST Louis (Option 2: Dallas @ NYG or Sea @ Denver)

Week 14: Jax vs Indy (Option 2: Arizona vs Seattle - NFC West title battle)

Week 15: NYG vs Philly - after the 1st game of the series, this should be a dandy again (Option 2: TB @ Chi)

Week 16: Atl vs Car - NFC West title battle (Option 2: Cincy at Denver or Pitt vs Baltimore)

Week 17: Chi vs GB - final game for Favre and the oldest rivalry in the league (Option 2: Atl @ Eagles or Wash vs NYG....gut feeling the NFC East, wild card teams and the seedings will come down to at least one of these 2 games, maybe both)

Your thoughts? (Maybe we can update our posts after every week as we get closer to this week 10)

Keep in mind that CBS and Fox are not about to give up their best games to NBC every week, so I do not expect every game chosen to be a top-notch one.

I have no link, but I recall an article I read from when the schedule was first released for 2006. In the article, it was listed that the most any team can appear on a nationally broadcast game was 6 times. This includes SNF, MNF, and all late-season Thursday and Saturday games. I seem to remember that Dallas was already at their full allotment, so it appears that none of the Cowboys Sunday games can be shifted to the national night game.

So far I haven't found anything the maximum of six nationally broadcast games, but I did find this:

As the NFL announced yesterday, this season the league will implement for the first time in history primetime "flexible scheduling" for NBC's primetime Sunday night games in Weeks 10-15 and in Week 17. Flexible scheduling will ensure quality matchups on Sunday night and give surprise teams a chance to play their way onto NBC's primetime schedule. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved and will use a 12-day notice format. Flexible scheduling will not involve games airing on Thursday, Saturday or Monday. The 2006 NFL schedule will list start times for all Sunday games during the "flex" weeks as 1 p.m. ET, except for games played in the Mountain or Pacific Time zones, which will be listed at 4:05 p.m. ET or 4:15 p.m. ET. The NBC Sunday nighttime slot for "flex" weeks will list teams as "TBD." As a result of a special NFL owners vote earlier this year, three teams may appear on NBC Sunday night games as many as four times each year which surpasses the previous maximum of three appearances. The remaining 29 teams allowed a maximum of three appearances on NBC.

NFL Flexible Scheduling 101

Begins Sunday, November 12, 2006 (Week 10)

In effect Weeks 10-15 and Week 17.

Not in effect Week 16 due to holiday weekend.

Only Sunday afternoon games in Weeks 10-15 and 17 are subject to being moved into the Sunday night window.

The majority of games on Sundays will be listed at 1:00 p.m. ET during flex weeks except for games played in Pacific or Mountain Time zones which will be listed at 4:05 or 4:15 p.m. ET.

No impact on Thursday, Saturday or Monday night games.

The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce on 12 days notice the game being moved to 8:15 p.m. ET and may also announce games moving to 4:15 p.m. ET.

Week 17 start time changes could be decided on 6 days notice to ensure a game with playoff implications.

The NBC Sunday night time slot in "flex" weeks will list teams as "TBD."

Fans and ticket holders must be aware that NFL games in flex weeks are subject to change 12 days in advance (6 days in Week 17) and should plan accordingly.

NFL schedules all games.

CBS and FOX each get to protect a total of 5 games in the 7 weeks of flexible scheduling, but not more than one game in any week.

Teams will be informed as soon as they are no longer under consideration or eligible for a move to Sunday night.

i believe that CBS and FOX pressured the league, and now NBC has to make the choices for the rest of the season after week 4. we'll find out soon enough.
